I agree, but sometimes it's fun to whip out a bottle of lighter fluid to use as you sit around the bonfire. Bad habit of my youth that I have yet to kick. View More

Let's everybody give a round of applause to the troll fodder that stepped into the conversation at point A, while the rest of us are closer to point M.

Learn to read the room instead of getting butt hurt. I purposely used the wording I did to weed out idiots, but apparently you slipped through the cracks. Just take a look through the replies to my post and my replies, then you'd easily see how big of an @$$ you just made of yourself. View More

I'm not trying to save the author nor make the issue more severe. I'm trying to promote intelligent thought in the people that comment, since they instantly become blind to all else in the moment somebody uses race as a descriptor. View More

Meigue: Hmmmm. I'm guessing you are not a Filipino. Readers are just saying what they feel. Authors are just writing what they think. But you, you are just messing with their feelings. Are you trying to save the author or to severe the issue?

I'll admit, your particular post has made the most sense out of anybody that has commented about the issue of race on here, however, you seem to be forgetting that this novel is not about the maid, nor even her crappy employer.

I'd suggest perhaps writing your own novel about her... not being sarcastic either. Your level of articulation in the way you explained the maid's plight as well as what her background could be makes me think you might actually be able to handle such a task.

Also, where as I appreciate intelligent input into this debate, I'd also like to direct you to my other post on this matter about how the involvement of her race possibly being for a different purpose. View More

sixvixx: It's actually a case of stereotyping Filipinos. What's even more sensitive is that this "maid" is actually a 'Filipino family's hope', and the story behind it. It's not easy to live in a poverty-stricken country. This maid went away to serve people of a different race, in a country far from home, hoping that her family could afford a better life. Well, the system sucks in the Philippines and while there are people living luxuriosly, and people trying to fight for a better system and governance, there are also a lot of people trying to find ways to put food on the table despite poverty and other circumstances like lack of formal education. So please pardon the mass rant but it is really a sensitive topic. It's not really a matter of pride, dignity, or reputation. It's a reflection of the social injustice in the Philippines that everyone wants to get away from. It's a reflection of a nightmare no one in the Philippines wants to recall but has to face no matter what. We have been struggling and these filipino maids are one of our symbols of hope. So yes, I think it is very insensitive of the author to specify the race of the maid. The author wrote about the unfair treatment to the 'filipino maid' but did not bother to write about a solution to her situation. And that's adding insult to the injury.

Ok. Let's do a little experiment to introduce all of you, at least semi-intelligent, people to logical deduction.

1) Take the racist card off the table.
2) Try to imagine why the author mentioned the maids race.
3) Realize that not everybody that mentions race is racist.

We have seen from this tiny interaction between main protagonists and VERY minor antagonists that this guy and his son are superficial POS. The man is obviously into some sort of illegal activity, hence the dog that is illegal. Now why else would the race of the maid be mentioned other than to mark the 'author' as racist... oh right, to further establish the man as scum and to portray the ML and FL in a better light.

Now that we've solved the issue, how about we start looking at the world through clear eyes instead of those tainted with reverse racism, hmm? View More

No, I'm not in your shoes, but I have seen this on nearly every new novel lately. "That's racist" but only when it mentions a race they care about. If it had said Nigerian, Cuban, etc, you'd likely have left it alone just like so many others. You like talking about anti-racism, but all of you that speak out in areas like this one instead of where it would make a difference are the real racists. View More

Hurry, everybody jump on the 'social justice warrior' bandwagon! They mentioned a nationality, so they must be racist!

Really people, get over yourselves. If you don't like it, don't read it. If you want to act all high and mighty and try to make the world a better place, the comments section on Webnovel is not the place to do it. Let us enjoy our novels without your ignorant chatter, please. View More

Actually, writing up three paragraphs merely shows that I like to articulate my opinions fully, rather than leaving vague replies that can be misconstrued easily. I also like intelligent debates, hence the reply in general. View More

Sythcake: Yap, writing up a 3 paragraph reply about how people ignore racism aimed at caucasians totally shows how much you don’t care either ways.)

I'm in denial because nobody made notice of being racist against Caucasians (an actual RACE, mind you), but flipped their **** at the mention of Africa (a continent, not a race)? Learn to look at the evidence before making an 'educated' opinion please.

And also, inferring sarcasm through text (which was my initial meaning) apparently isn't as easy as I initially thought when dealing with those that are offended as easily as you seem to be. I found it humorous that everyone jumped on the social warrior bandwagon at the mention of Africa in a bad light, but completely ignored the mention of Caucasians in the same context.

Frankly, I don't care one way or the other, because if you are actually offended by a novel from another country, here's an idea: stop reading it? View More

Chapter as is updated, so it takes the updated marker off the novels that were updated before my last login and the privilege chaps are counted as regular ones in the "unread" making it hard to keep up with which ones I have actually read.

Also sorry for cut off post, finger slipped. View More

Snowoman: When there is an assurance about regular updates, why do all the readers pine and complain about privilege? People were still reading the regularly updated chapters when there was no such thing called privilege. Nothing has changed even now. Those who can afford to buy privilege, buy it. Otherwise, everything is the same as before. Satisfy yourselves with the regular 1,2 or 3 chapters a day( for any novel). Authors have nothing to do about it. Do not accuse them unnecessarily. They too feel bad if all of us keep on leaving negative comments about it.

Wow... lots of hate for our FL this chapter. Apparently, everybody thinks being indecisive and actually taking your time to collect your thoughts is childish, where as throwing yourself into a relationship directly after trying to get over a long period of unrequited love is more *****... uhm... no... y'all seem to have things flip-flopped.

Of course, if we go from the standpoint of a reader like ourselves, it drags the story along and is a bit boring, but I like that she is acting like a normal human being in this situation. Let's see... act like a slut and go for the first **** that comes your way after only loving one person and technically being in love still or process your thoughts and decide in a mature manner whether you should get into another relationship? Are all of the newer novels following the same script or something? Indecision, stupidity, overbearing MLs, rape as a plot device for the main couple... c'mon it's getting ridiculous. Rape is UNFORGIVABLE. If you love somebody, rape is not a way to show it, but instead a way to show you don't even see them as having basic human rights. View More

I think we're reading different novels. Nothing 'poor' about him, he's a self-centered, self-serving prick that deserves to suffer for the way her treated BOTH women in this triangle. One is constantly compared to his first love in his mind and the other gets to always play second fiddle no matter how much love and caring she gave him. I'm all for him conveniently being assassinated in office to remove him from this story altogether. View More

A little confused on this point. It's been shown she's not a very good person, but the only "scheming" she's done is go along with the plans her family has put about to ensure her new husband isn't a cheating pos, which he actually is.

Plans I might add that were only brought about thanks to Bilu in the first place. View More

Knew it... he's going to get away with rape and she's going to forgive him without even so much as a "I'm sorry" on his part. Sickening and downright idiotic. Why is she the one apologizing when he's the one 100% at fault in this situation? View More

I agree completely! This situation is exactly like a certain other novel on here and their protagonist. If any of you side with that protagonist yet have the audacity to bad mouth Ran, you are hypocrites. View More

hehehuhu: I love how commentors are hating on Ran. She really doesnt know better but can you blame her? I guess she never listens, thats her fault. But the communication among the family is so bad. I mean, lets face it. Lin family wants Nuan not Ran. Nuan and Ran both know it. The former is trying her best to solve it, while the latter got tired of the treatment and figured, “my family doesnt want me? Fine F U all, imma do what i want”

Yeezus. If Lin Ran was the protagonist of this story, we’d all be accusing of Nuan being a white lotus and applauding Ran for chasing down her dream. We’re all bias.

I don't think that he should be forgiven. He's the one that jumped to conclusions, literally raped ger, then couldn't even be bothered to apologize at the time of it happening (not that an apology would make a difference when you've raped somebody). Yes, I like them as a couple over all, but there are certain lines you can't cross and it still be a viable relationship. Author, you done fk'd up and no matter what he says to her now, he will always be considered a rapist to me. View More

Both ML and FL are stupid almost beyond belief. ML first takes advantage of FL, leaves her confused about their relationship, then expects her to kneel his feet, so to speak. FL is even worse, it's like reading a novel where the FL is actually the main antagonist; slutty, dimwitted, and just outright horrible natured overall. View More
