Overall, the story is interesting and flows quite well. The main characters make you like them easily and hardly ever give you a moment of disliking them even in the slightest.

My one and only qualm is the fact that the updates seem to go smoothly for a while, then become non-existent without notice for days to weeks. I'm aware the author is ill, but I still enjoy consistency in my novels, so that's why I couldn't bring myself to rate this novel higher.

To the author themself, even if it means less content per day, it would be better to be consistent rather than pushing yourself too hard and causing yourself to lose readers over a lack of updates for longer periods of time. View More

To those of you saying that XLS is going too far. Disregarding a person's privacy in a relationship is not something that should be allowed by any means. NJT knows that she has issues opening up, yet still does something that'll make it harder for her to do so. His narcissistic antics are funny to us readers, but logically speaking, he'd have gotten dumped a long time ago by most people. He's lucky she is as tolerant of his shamelessness as she is. anjeeriku: Man, here we go again with the complaints. I don’t know about you but I’m starting to get tired of it again. Since the moment I resumed updating (Nov 15) until now (Dec 19), I have given you more than 80 chapters with 120k+ words and yet you still complain that it’s not enough and I’m not releasing enough chapters to your liking.

Some even complained that I should be updating on weekends which are my offline days. >_<

Come on, guys. It isn’t cool at all. I’m already doing my best to compensate the time I haven’t updated by giving you more chapters for the past weeks. I don’t have a maid or anyone who can help me do my pile of laundry and do household chores. My weekends are spent doing those chores and restocking my fridge and pantry with food.

Have you forgotten that I have chronic illnesses and I have limited time to write in a day? Trust me, guys, you wouldn't like it if I fall sick again. You’ll be waiting for weeks or months for another set of updates again.

As much as I want to write and release more chapters, I’m still a human being with responsibilities and obligations outside Webnovel. Tbh, my body and brain are already screaming at me that I’ve written past my limit.

So tldr; I know you just want to read more chapters but don’t put pressure on me. I also want to write more but not under the pressure of anyone.

Admittedly, it does get a bit monotonous at times, but the author does try to break the monotony with a bit of action thrown in time to time. This type of novel does seem to follow this pattern usually, but we still keep coming back because we love the characters, right? View More

Ibbit: I started to think that this Novel had a pattern... Man Man slapping other so hard for their bad deeds/ intentions - Mr. Shameless on action - Man Man slapping another bad character - Mr. Shameless back on action.... and this pattern goes on....🤣

Although I agree, I'm happy to even get 2 chapters a day. A lot of novels seem to be milking their readers with 1 chapter a day lately. View More

Even though I feel it was a waste of SS for this chapter, at least it helped me to realize these girls are actually the comedy relief of this novel. Can't help but laugh at them. View More

Nope. I'm done. Dropping this novel. FL and ML aren't worth the stones. Was hoping to see ANY sort of development, but instead get a highly likely ntr setup. Author seems to like to infuriate their readers rather than entertain them. View More

I'm not patriotic, nor is being so a (in)validation of my point. I know gratitude, I know piety, but I also know that point out the race of a person can be used outside of racism. Any 'intelligent' person would have analyzed the context it was used in rather than instantly seeing it as racist or unpatriotic.

Also, perhaps you should've brought your argument to the table when it was still valid, instead when I've already proven my point in another post.

The problem is that there are far too few free thinking people out there that have not been corrupted by the idiocy of societal standards, hence the instantaneous offense to anything that can be misconstrued as being done aggressively or to attack people.

This will be the last person I reply to on this chapter, for I've already dealt with enough fodder for a lifetime over something none of you seem to be smart enough to comprehend. View More

Immortal_Goddess: What’s your nationality then? If you’re not patriotic then shut up! We know gratitude and we know decency. We value honor and pride. If you want, we can use your countrymen as characters to be maltreated in a foreign book. And we will SPECIFICALLY STATE IT as well. How would you feel about that?!🤬🤬🤬🤬

You’re the ignorant here. If you need to understand the word ignorant, I suggest you go back to elementary and learn it. Even kindergarten students are taught to love their own country and fellowmen.

kekucba: Ooooo becouse if it is Filipino is racist but if it is chinese it isn't. Well done filipinos looks like bein a maid is insulting for you. Should all maids or nannys in the world feel they are discriminate for you? A filipino think work a honest job and suffer in it is raicist? Maybe the data of the nanny's nationality only had to be link to the matter than even she is working for a high class familu didn't reconize to Gu Jingze and she didn't know she can' t ofend him. Keep the story fiction life not your own real life on mind.

Given you're incapable of typing in anything other than caps, I'm unwilling to even throw your post into Google translate.

What few things that did make sense are made a mockery of by your inadequacy in net etiquette.

Yes, you have the right to feel the way you do. Have I once said you or any other person on here doesn't have that right? Not at all. What I was tempting to portray was: (and I'll put this next part in way you can understand) STOP ACTING LIKE EVERYBODY IS RACIST BECAUSE 'THAT' PERPEPUATES MORE RACISM. View More

I'm not trying to save the author nor make the issue more severe. I'm trying to promote intelligent thought in the people that comment, since they instantly become blind to all else in the moment somebody uses race as a descriptor. View More

Meigue: Hmmmm. I'm guessing you are not a Filipino. Readers are just saying what they feel. Authors are just writing what they think. But you, you are just messing with their feelings. Are you trying to save the author or to severe the issue?

I'll admit, your particular post has made the most sense out of anybody that has commented about the issue of race on here, however, you seem to be forgetting that this novel is not about the maid, nor even her crappy employer.

I'd suggest perhaps writing your own novel about her... not being sarcastic either. Your level of articulation in the way you explained the maid's plight as well as what her background could be makes me think you might actually be able to handle such a task.

Also, where as I appreciate intelligent input into this debate, I'd also like to direct you to my other post on this matter about how the involvement of her race possibly being for a different purpose. View More

sixvixx: It's actually a case of stereotyping Filipinos. What's even more sensitive is that this "maid" is actually a 'Filipino family's hope', and the story behind it. It's not easy to live in a poverty-stricken country. This maid went away to serve people of a different race, in a country far from home, hoping that her family could afford a better life. Well, the system sucks in the Philippines and while there are people living luxuriosly, and people trying to fight for a better system and governance, there are also a lot of people trying to find ways to put food on the table despite poverty and other circumstances like lack of formal education. So please pardon the mass rant but it is really a sensitive topic. It's not really a matter of pride, dignity, or reputation. It's a reflection of the social injustice in the Philippines that everyone wants to get away from. It's a reflection of a nightmare no one in the Philippines wants to recall but has to face no matter what. We have been struggling and these filipino maids are one of our symbols of hope. So yes, I think it is very insensitive of the author to specify the race of the maid. The author wrote about the unfair treatment to the 'filipino maid' but did not bother to write about a solution to her situation. And that's adding insult to the injury.

The Beautiful Wife of the Whirlwind Marriage · C442

Ok. Let's do a little experiment to introduce all of you, at least semi-intelligent, people to logical deduction.

1) Take the racist card off the table.
2) Try to imagine why the author mentioned the maids race.
3) Realize that not everybody that mentions race is racist.

We have seen from this tiny interaction between main protagonists and VERY minor antagonists that this guy and his son are superficial POS. The man is obviously into some sort of illegal activity, hence the dog that is illegal. Now why else would the race of the maid be mentioned other than to mark the 'author' as racist... oh right, to further establish the man as scum and to portray the ML and FL in a better light.

Now that we've solved the issue, how about we start looking at the world through clear eyes instead of those tainted with reverse racism, hmm? View More

No, I'm not in your shoes, but I have seen this on nearly every new novel lately. "That's racist" but only when it mentions a race they care about. If it had said Nigerian, Cuban, etc, you'd likely have left it alone just like so many others. You like talking about anti-racism, but all of you that speak out in areas like this one instead of where it would make a difference are the real racists. View More

Actually, writing up three paragraphs merely shows that I like to articulate my opinions fully, rather than leaving vague replies that can be misconstrued easily. I also like intelligent debates, hence the reply in general. View More

Sythcake: Yap, writing up a 3 paragraph reply about how people ignore racism aimed at caucasians totally shows how much you don’t care either ways.)

I'm in denial because nobody made notice of being racist against Caucasians (an actual RACE, mind you), but flipped their **** at the mention of Africa (a continent, not a race)? Learn to look at the evidence before making an 'educated' opinion please.

And also, inferring sarcasm through text (which was my initial meaning) apparently isn't as easy as I initially thought when dealing with those that are offended as easily as you seem to be. I found it humorous that everyone jumped on the social warrior bandwagon at the mention of Africa in a bad light, but completely ignored the mention of Caucasians in the same context.

Frankly, I don't care one way or the other, because if you are actually offended by a novel from another country, here's an idea: stop reading it? View More
