I think Rui literally always bailing them out of every dangerous situation has really gnawed at Kane's sense of danger, besides in the Shionel Dungeon, the only other place where they were a duo against beasts, they would usually have no issues slaughtering the whole floor.

I think, just like how the Transcendants ignore everything to prepare for war against the Beast Domain, the Lost Cities are proof that once shrunk too far, the Beast Domain revolts and pushes the humans back to the border, sending their progress back to square 1.

One great function was that this game allowed the saving of preset characters so I've already done that hour long character customisation when I first started the game. All I need to do now is to just load up the preset and I could see the character I had painstakingly created appear in front of me.
