you haven’t read enough fiction then. there are animes, web novels,ln novels, vns, mangas, manhas in which characters have sentient swords that can turn into human companions. now try to be abit creative and imagine a magical slash sorcerer slash wizard slash warlock take on what that would even be. i’m sorry my friend but i feel like you aren’t that much of a fanatic.(no lifer) anyways getting back on topic a good author can make or break a story themselves doing anything. one shouldn’t let bad authors be a definitive guide on what not to do or what to do. as the idea of a sentient non human/tool object companion is an incredibly commonplace trope in fiction in particular fantasy fiction both scifi to general fantasy. as for them gaining a human form or anthropomorphic form which is generally what happens anyways as most of the time there’ll always be some remnant in either their physical appearance or behavior that clues in the readers on their true nature. i get why you are frustrated as there have been way too many bad fanfic authors who don’t understand how to write such characters or any characters at all or understand pacing or even have a modicum of grammar skills. anyways the reason i brought up demonbane is i can’t imagine someone being a true anime/manga/vn and light novel degenerate not atleast having once played that game or heard it once. and clearly the mc is a chuuni so with him copying a reality marble from fate it won’t be too long before the mc tries doing a jotaro “yare yare daze” or cid kagenou “i am atomic” scenario so since mc is in a fantasy world based off magic i assumed at some point he’d try his hand on creating sentient nonhuman allies. say such as golems or magical spirits, homunculus, etc. since frieren has grimoires i thought taking a page from demonbane would’ve fit well with the story. in particular because of how absurd it’d seem to the denizens of frierens universe. i’d like to explain in more detail. one demonbane grimioires can fuse with their holder/host like a kamen rider/power ranger suit giving them a cool stylish form alongside new powers&abilities. by themselves demonbane grimoires are mostly powerless/defenseless and function more like mascots. they aren’t all knowledgeable emotionless husks and can be depressed and betray/not help their holder/host if they are treated badly. anyways i just thought it’d be ultra cool to see mc try his hand on recreating a demonbane grimoire. imagine a necronomicon that turns into a loli that can power you up and helps you fight cthulhu and friends that and one of the strongest mechas in all of fiction. while i like super ttgl its not nearly as strong as either eldergod demonbane, getter emperor, mazinger zero,or the scp mecha the broken god/mehkane from the scp foundation(the very definition of bad writing).

oh i’m aware of this but prisma ilya becoming a serious adaptation was just nasu inserting his fingers where he shouldn’t have often times taking a successful nasuverse spinoff and trying to force into into the mainline universe this more or less killed prisma illyas popularity from what i remember during that time. basically imagine attack on titan or tokyo ghoul becoming a rom com shoujo slice of life suddenly. thats basically what happened near the later episodes of prisma illya. i remember there were lots of complaints of how the show felt like it changed entirely into a different product. the thing is i have no complaint against serious prisma ilya it just feels really out of place compared to regular nasuverse. this wasn’t the first time where nasu took some successful parody adaptation he didn’t really have a hand in and tried to steal it for himself. prisma illya was just the most egregious and blatant example out of them all. thats why i like it when authors are fans of the settings of the fanfics they r writing about so they don’t make basic mistakes like adding in prisma illya as servants in a serious nasuverse fanfic. personally i could see it working in a really parody-ish nasu fanfic where you aren’t meant to take it seriously. honestly as ecchi as prisma ilya was it was a good show but it becoming serious made no sense at all. nasu has a bad habit of trying to force things together that don’t work. maybe he just gets jealous when someone else is successful with his ip so maybe this was his way of getting revenge? who knows really? anyways prisma illya will always be out of place in the mainline nasuverse regardless of how much nasu tries to force it.

author its not really necessary truth be told. the only strange part was mc becoming a human and the wish system. honestly the mc randomly pushing plot forward by acting like a fake demon lord wasn’t needed but its too early to tell. its your story tbh. but yeah this reminds me of that bleach/fgo fanfic where the mc was a sternritter oc with almighty and all schrifts. it started off good but became terrible when author forced mc to act edgy and villainous randomly near end of the first singularity or was it second then came all the random bleach espies and hollows randomly popping up in singularities and author dropped his story shortly thereafter. the thing is your story ISN’t even half that cringe or terrible YET. trust me when i say i’ve seen far far worst stories. right now my biggest caveat was the huge time skip followed with the wish system chapter that i felt was un-necessary. honestly having the mc change his race THAT early on is not as big of a deal as some readers here think. its strange and weird but it could be worst. as for how the mc is acting like a fake demon lord honestly Idk its only been 2 what 3 chapters? i think instead of a rewrite author you should get some good editor who can reign you in and give sound advice. or take a break if needed honestly writing takes creativity&most importantly Willpower! i remember reading a comment from a prolific author on question@ble questing forum; that authors who do rewrites are more likely to drop a story&stagnate and finally give up then authors who just push through.
