I just looked back a bit to the last chapter with her and it was about the "they only feel like that bc of mana and need to learn to love for real" etc and that won't really just happen by waiting and sitting on that past relationship.
There was a simple truth to the situation that went beyond the spiritual betrayal of his love for Liiza. Khan had mustered the strength to be intimate with someone else, so Liiza was also capable of that. The realization almost brought Khan to tears. He wanted to leave, go somewhere cold, and remain alone, but he found punishing himself more appealing.

However, Delia's hesitation lasted only a few seconds. Her hands soon relaxed and reached his head to make it cross the space that separated it from her lips.

A cycle took less than a second. Khan could almost memorize the entire page of a book with only a pair of lumps of mana. In short, he only had to remain two seconds on each sheet before moving to the next one.

Shouldn't it, theoretically, just be a memory of the page so that at most he could read it without needing to look at it? Understanding the contents seem weird because the process itself would have to do that for him. That understanding is not inherently in the page.
Nevertheless, through sheer resolve and multiple attempts, Khan managed to complete his first cycles and experience how good the actual memorization was. It felt unnatural for the human brain to gain so much knowledge instantly, but he still achieved incredible results. He couldn't recite the page word for word, but he understood its contents without needing to review it.
