..I feel like the author and people seem to forget that everyone, surname or not, on that island is blood-related. Like, the whole point of the place is supposed to be for Zhang blood relations who have unlocked part of their ancestral blood right? I mean yeah, I doubt many of them are close enough in relation for it to be an issue, but literally everyone there, girls included, are still *related*. Even the ones without Zhang as the surname since their parents were just married into other clans. View More

SwiftFate: This Nyoi-Bo Stuido really does pick up trash. No offense to the translators personally, but more towards the business decisions behind them. They are being hired by QI to saturate the market with the same trashy cliche novels cut from the same cloth time and time again. Rather than focus their efforts on some quality content with a fresh air of writing, we continue to get the same regurgitated crap that already saturates China's online novel market. Yes. This is once again the same crap we have gotten time and time again, some of which have at this point have long since hit 1000+ chapters and continue to squeeze out half-MTL translation turds despite the lack of interest after the initial 300 chapter-same-bull**** plotline. Meanwhile, some actual fresh content novels with ACTUAL UNIQUE concepts of cultivaton in them continue to go on hiatus or get lower quality/less regular chapters.

So over it.. And this is not a review targeting the authors or translators of these books. I do believe they deserve to be translated, however not at the expense of other content being put on the backburner just so QI can line their pockets with a little bit more cash in the short run. The review is noting the continued lack of quality DUE to this mindset by QI, as well as the lowered release schedules for older novels while translators/studios are forced to work on new projects.

SwiftFate: Oh. And before people complain, at least my review is somewhat constructive as-opposed to the way the QI system on this site works by enticing readers to literally review bomb novels for a few spirit stones. Not necessarily good reviews, but most people will obviously go for whatever is quickest and just rate it highly anyway. The review/rating system is a complete sham.

An interesting and fun to read series that has since been ruined (Ch300 or so) by what feels like a forced inclusion of "e-sports" and more "player" focus. The series would have been so much better if there was a continued focus around the MC exploring his new 'reality' and how the NPC's seemingly ARE human. They walk talk and act like real people, and with the developmental focus on them early on, the characters introduced like Bennett honestly held more of my interest than any of these "Player Characters" ever will.

Ever since the "Beta" arc, the author seems to have rushed over all the initial development in the series in order to introduce players into the game proper, even though the MC has superceded anything they could possibly do for years to come. Would have been better if the only use Players had in the series was a crutch for the MC to farm XP/Money and gain an advantage over other NPC characters. Instead, it looks like they are going to continue playing active, yet boring and in my opinion kind of pointless roles throughout the series. View More

Well, I have given this series a shot. For a fun read when you have nothing better to do, worth it. Otherwise, I'm kind of sick of the endless face-slapping. I've lost interest. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the series, maybe I will come back in the future when there are more chapters to read and I have nothing better to do. Who knows, it might be good. View More

For god sake, just call the main character Merlin instead of Lin Yun. It fits better. He is literally the only character with a Chinese name in the translation, and it just seems so out of place. Plus, Merlin is a cooler sounding name in English. The 3rd person perspectives all refer to him as that anyway, so continuity is nice. View More

Oof. That is some painfully bad luck FY has. The fact that he is even functioning is surprising. I do love that the author introduced such a severe downside to the cicada though, I was worried it might end up becoming that be all end all spam item a lot of series tend to have. Yes it is still a last resort option for him, but if he dares to risk using it he will at least face some interesting difficulties afterwards. View More

He can't control it, nor would he want to at his current level since it would likely require an insane price. But Wisdom Gu is sentient, so he can probably gain some benefits and make a deal with it to help it escape. View More

I feel like Wisdom Gu has been waiting for an opportunity to escape and Fang Yuan will offer it a chance in return for it helping him. He understands that there is no way for him to control Wisdom Gu, so he is not a threat to it, therefore it will be more willing to make a deal. View More

Oh piss off you big baby, comments are there not just for praise, but to criticize. Most of it is constructive criticism and not just pointless bashing of the story anyway. We have every right to voice our distaste in the negative points just as much as you have a right to praise them. Saying "just don't read it" or "just don't watch it if you don't like it" is probably the most pathetic response on the internet these days. We read and watch this content because we WANT it to be good, we continue, because we have HOPE that it will get better. View More

Samsta_fer: Anyone who doesn’t like this story can go read something else. Comments criticizing the story are even more annoying than the people who always say “first” in the comment section.

He literally regenerated a lost arm a few chapters ago. It's one of those authors. So long as it advances the plot, no contradiction or slip in logic is too big. View More

Hoping this gets better, has potential. but the complete idiocy of the MC has started to get to me. Author doesn't seem to care about creating complicated characters very much and that is a worry. View More

I know right? Writing a brute force character is all well and good, but spouting nonsense like that is pretty stupid. Author is basically saying when the MC eventually comes up against someone who can actually hit him, he will just stand there and take it. Now I am all for a character that is tough as iron, but if they act like fucking dumbasses I start to lose interest real fast View More

"Curses Come True Gu" doesn't actually sound too far-fetched. From what I can tell, the author has created a cultivation system where he can literally come up with whatever the heck he wants as an ability. Very similar to One Piece in that sense actually now that I think about it. Quite a genius move if you want to create something unique. All he needs to to come up with something that actually fits the language/meaning. "Eating ones words Gu" for example. So a "Curses come true" gu would totally be possible, and quite powerful. Imagine being able to expend some power and simply say "I curse you to die in 7 days." and have that actually come true? I could see that happening, but the price the user of such a Gu would have to pay for such a powerful curse would be pretty big too, where as a ****** curse might be much easier. View More

SwiftFate: The Ren Zu part of this series truly sets it apart from others. It gives the story a soul and backstory to follow along with. The fact that it is referred to as a "legend" and more of a tale to most current gen in the world makes it even better. I love seeing where it takes things and it introduces hints and concepts that work really well later on
