Why why why why why isn’t the clan forming a cross class development plan? Like the clan can exist independently of the classes. The clan focuses on spiritual development which doesn’t need tech. So more talented or hardworking 3rd raters would promote and so on….
Doing this introduced a lot of additional difficulties and complications, though. Ves and his subordinates had to flesh out a much more comprehensive plan to turn this into a workable solution.

I’m almost convinced Ves is about to be exiled. From like freaking humanity. And the kingdom… Mr. S is a ‘cosmo’, Joshua is a cosmo, the clan is always trying to be independent, design spirits can be substitutes for the kingdom, Ves hates being forced into things yet for some reason is A-okay with being led by the nose to True God as a Star Designer? Frankly I wouldn’ even be surprised just impressed by how far this can go…

Hmmmm alright I’ll accept the premise that these are Ves’s thoughts due to his lack of information…
He mainly relied on a set of assumptions to drive his current action. No human in the galaxy knew how spirituality worked, let alone Ves, but believed his original design would gain a lot of strength if he succeeded in roping in the spirit of the crystal builder.
