terrible and inconsistent you mean
Probably not true, unleses you test your pain tolerances IRL already. Like, if you're not breaking your arm just to see how bad it hurts and then planning how not to break bones now, I doubt you'd kill yourself or torture yourself just because you knew you could come back once or twice. Not without death being forced on you to the point that you become desensitized to it.
"This really is a game" exclaimed Adam as he saw that he had gained loot and the goblin disappeared after being defeated.

I mean it's pretty realistic, the head is pretty sensitive. The goblin had its back turned, and he had a running start. Of course he also got a lucky critical hit too. The real problem is that, I bet after this, the realistic physics will go out the window, or at the very least, will never apply to MC when MC is attacked.
Instead of the body collapsing like what he expected, the goblin disintegrated into pixels and left behind a small pouch and a wooden club.

中國人也很矮
Despite the small gap in speed and strength, Adam had sneak attacked him in a vulnerable area, so was able to overcome the gap with his intelligence.

The actual Chinese idiom is 天上不會掉餡餅 “stuffed buns don't fall from the sky" which pretty much means the same thing as "there's no such thing as a free lunch". It's not "negative" to recognize that there is a cost to everything we do. Even if he were to sit around asking for help, he still has to spend the time asking for people to help him. Lol. It's not healthy denying reality buddy.
However, he knew better than anybody that there was no such thing as a free lunch, and everything had a price which he was curious about.

No, there aren't. If you want anything you have to work for it. Or, someone else has to. That sandwich your mom made for you? Yeah, she had to work at her job (or your dad at his). A farmer had to grow the grain, a baker had to make the bread. You had to spend your time eating it, time that could have been spent on something else.

Trust me, inconsistent leveling is extremely common in the raws of a lot of these stories. This owes a lot to the fact that the leveling system isn't very well thought out from the get go and new systems are later adopted, typically going from game-y to more traditional chinese ranking systems which might be understood better by the native audience but is still vague enough to give the author lee-way, and for good measure, the systems are further confused by giving MC a higher "qualitative boost" for good measure to cover up the nonsense (IE everyone else has white Qi but MC has legendary Golden Qi that makes his rank 1 equal to a normie's rank 5).
