I just think it would've made sense if you add King Triton saying something like he would at least make sure Henry lives to preserve the cruelty in the situation while removing the dissonance of everyone handwaving leaving Henry to die.
[I know some of you are mad at Ariel for everything she did these past few chapters. But you see, it's all been a part of my plan for her character development. I can't think of any other way to make her transition from naivety to maturity more impactful other than this.
