In order to properly wield their guns, the Spanish wore a armor that combined aesthetics of the medieval era and leather guards. Of course, these leather guards were on their hands and wrists. With Leonel's rod weighing just a bit over 30 pounds, did the soldier's wrist even stand a chance?

Also re-reading, but after 2 years. You're definitely jogging my memory haha
The second day of travel, was going to be exciting! After the disappointments from the day before, Joseph had decided he was going to start working on Ignite Fire. Being only 7, and probably looking 5 or 6, hadn't helped him any when it came to talking to the adults around him about serious things. With this, he would have something to back his talk up with, if things ever went south. This would at least give him a fighting chance. Food spells didn't really offer much when a fight broke out.

Give this man some more runes maybe start studying the fire rune from memory?

basically owns his whole kingdom lmao
The wording from the contract allowed William to use anything for any reason, while there was any kind of war going on, anywhere.

there's also an unnecessary comma in front of "then"
"Alright, son. Only because you ask. I want you to know, though that if she affects any other slaves, then those who are assigned to you, I will be contacting you again."

I mean a spell with a base mana cost that low is probably not that potent and wouldn't be able to overcome magic resistance, if it exists. If it's a utility spell however, 0 mana cost would be very convenient indeed.
(DUE TO CONTINUED TRAINING AND EFFORT, EXTERNALIZE MANA HAS REACHED INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. SUB SKILLS MAY NOW BE TRAINED TO INTERMEDIATE LEVEL. DUE TO INCREASED EFFICIENCY EXTERNALIZING MANA, THE COST OF ALL SPELLS WILL REDUCE BY 1 TO A MINIMUM OF 1. IF YOU WISH TO REDUCE MANA TO 0, YOU MUST ACHIEVE BASIC MANA ABSORPTION.)

Based on context, the end bit of that sentence was probably supposed to be along the lines of "she used to literally eat humans", but perhaps author got distracted while writing or something.
Stella stiffened. The only way she knew to eat someone did not involve killing them first, which meant, she used to be a killer. The thought terrified her.

If he wants to learn magic spells like a petrifying gaze, he first has to learn how to emit magic into/through his eyes. If he wants to learn how to shoot fireballs, he needs to learn how to emit and launch magic projectiles. I don't remember all the types of training he's doing, but the general idea makes sense.
When he finally got around to practicing his gaze magic, a few days later, it was just as he thought, his eyes burned. Too bad this world didn't have those numbing drops from his past life.

I feel the embarrassment already just give an apology my man smh
"Um, there's your breakfast," he said, looking up to see her already holding it. Well, crap. Glad to see he could make this even more awkward.

Pretty sure the correct term is wazoo, slang for a*s(b/c author trying to creatively say "get [his] head out of [his] ass"), instead of woozo, but "out the wazoo" means something completely different that doesn't make any sense in this context, so realistically the sentence would need to be completely rewritten
This was the first time he questioned perfect memory. He had never been this conflicted before. Finally getting his mind out of the woozo, as one of his previous lives would have said, he arrived back at the carriage. Hesitating for a moment, he finally knocked.

I thought the blue corn was referring to this lifetime, but admittedly I may have simply skimmed through it and misread it
After comprehending his first spell, he had to admit the modification looked nothing like the base rune. The changes were supposed to be so subtle that you could barely tell the difference, but this was ridiculous. The runes were like the difference in drawing with a crayon, spray painting it freehand, using stencils and painting with a paintbrush. While they might all be the same symbol for FOOD, each was vastly different in art style or font. Life 1 had learned an alphabet that was almost 5000 letters, so the subtleties of writing FOOD differently may have just been obvious to him.

If you were an actual person and you knew the answer, why would you say wrong answers? The only reasons he would deliberately do that would be for meta reasons such as comedic effect or to look foolish and exaggerate the sense of discovery. I find it much more likely for him to have answered in such a way because he comes from a predominantly gaming background rather than a light novel reading background. Well this is all conjecture anyways :/

Since this is a skill, I would refer to the skill as Thaumaturgy(which is more commonly known anyways) while the knowledge required would be acquired through Thaumatology. Basically the same disctinction between technology and science.

To clarify for readers less fluent in English, "magical abilities" refers to special powers related to magic in some way. This could indeed mean things such as spell casting, but the other meaning of magical would be synonymous to wonderful, which could refer to any ability you wouldn think is normally impossible.
"There's a lot of things I can do, but casting spells is not one of them."

Personally I feel like this is a bit of a stretch, but in that case it's like a father boasting to his child, which would also make sense. :)
"Well, I can't give specific advanced abilities away. You may never have access to them if you go a different direction than I went, but you know how my slaves are so sought after? It's because they are so well trained, thanks to the System giving me the abilities to do things right. I have slaves all over the three kingdoms. I even have slaves that I've sold to the kings. Now, I'm not going to say that I control the three kingdoms, but I could certainly influence them heavily if I needed to."

Just because it's her job, doesn't mean she can't be nice about it. Think about it for a second, would you rather have a waitress with an attitude or a polite one? It wouldn't be strange to have a good impression of a good waitress, especially as an easily impressed child.
They went into the inn he remembered seeing but had never been in before, and sat at a table. The waitress was very nice as she took their orders and before long, a platter of food sat before him. There was more food then he knew what to do with. His dad laughed at the look on his face.

200 would be a more reasonable number for his kills to make a significant enough impact to prevent the Spanish overwhelming victory in spite of the technological disadvantage of the Mayans. Also apparently more historically accurate according to other comments.
What Leonel didn't know was that this was only due to his actions. He hadn't wanted to count the number of Spaniards he had killed, but it was over a hundred. There were only two thousand in total. He had single handedly taken down a good percentage of their army.
