Raven will always top my list

She was — put entirely too simply — goth perfection. But it wasn't just her looks that drew me to her. It was that worn and weakened steel in her spine. The defiance. The HOPE. And if I was being honest, it was the way she suddenly looked at me with stunned infatuation at first sight, that electric spark of something other than HOPE in her eyes…

all you got to do is start taking some serious requests for enchantments

For the things that couldn't be cultivated however the price never went below ten thousand galleons. Such a price was extreme even for Nick to pay with his fortune but he couldn't say it wasn't fair as most of these ingredients could be considered family heirlooms for wizarding families. So with a pained wallet Nick shelled out nearly two million Galleons leaving his fortune at a mere one hundred fifty seven thousand galleons. Still a lot to be sure but Nick was no longer considered uber wealthy as he had less money than the Malfoys by quite a bit.-

you know I just realized that he should be grateful to Dumbledore, if Dumbledore hadn't exposed his heritage it would have possibly taken him years to discover he was a ravenclaw, go to the vault, and discover how much of a threat Zeus was, it's more than likely Kronos set some events in place in dumbledore's past in order to shape him into a man who would do the thing he did, not saying Dumbledore doesn't deserve a little blame but he probably doesn't deserve all of it, and that this event had its upsides

The gun was a bit questionable as it was an old M1903 Springfield bolt action rifle that Dumbledore had somehow managed to acquire. The old goat swore that he got it through standard methods but Nick had a hard time believing that. He couldn't be blamed since the rifle was practically an antique despite the condition it was in that made it seem like it had just came off the factory line. Still Nick took the gun anyways to take it apart to enchant for his purpose.-

I thought this exact bird form killed hundreds of powerful wizards that wanted to kill the original bird

"Hmm , perhaps a flight mechanic of some sort so you don't need to transform in order to fly?" The old elf offered and Nick thought about it for a moment before nodding. As much as it killed him to admit Nick knew that his Animagus form was not ideal for combat and was far more useful for retreating and stalling instead. It simply had no way to cast real spells in any manner that Nick could learn quickly as it lacked the vocal cords needed to speak incantations as well as any sort of decent aim while holding his wand in it's talons.-

Nick should really make a pair of glasses that make a recording of everything he sees, that way he can look through all the books in the library without ever reading any of them but have all the knowledge stored on the classes that he can then copy down into copies of the books, food for thought

Nick was aware that the longer he took to claim his reward the more nervous it would make the people from the department of mysteries but he didn't care. Before he even thought about going through that vast collection of knowledge he wanted to digest Slytherins library first. Nick couldn't really explain it but he had this feeling that doing so as soon as possible was what he needed. This meant that every second he wasn't in class or rapidly churning out rings of protection he was in the chamber of secrets reading through the library.-

isn't the energy balls made by Twilight forging not technically magic but the physical manifestation of light, and don't they actually reject evil so they would be very harmful to Bellatrix since all she is is evil

This made Slytherins library a priceless treasure even if it couldn't be removed from the chamber. The wily old snake had bound each and every book of the library to this room so only those he wanted to see it. Clearly he hadn't expected that someone with soul devouring abilities like Nick would have come around and destroyed him using his phylactery so the library was not booby trapped due to his confidence of victory in battle. That said he clearly didn't trust whoever was supposed to read the library and made it impossible to take books from the room.-

isn't your ring devouring souls to empower you the same as destroying the soul

Yeah "souls" as in more than one at a time , Nick was disgusted by this information as to burn souls in this way was to erase them from existence fully. It was heinous beyond measure and only someone mad or totally without conscience would be willing to perform it. "There is nothing worth knowing within these pages." Nick said and used his ability to cover the book in his hand in violent flame reducing it to ashes. "I can't blame you for that decision but that is so wasteful , do you know how rare soul magic is?" the portrait said slightly regretful at the journals destruction.-

okay author let's be honest the basilisk is over a thousand years old so it's probably on the verge of death already, it's also been starved for most of that time, and it's spent its entire life in captivity in Salazar's chamber so it has no survival or combat instincts it would get in the wild, so I can understand it being is easy but let's be honest if you encounter one in the wild your f***ed, at your current level

It's body was of course that of a giant snake but there was a big difference in it head in the form of long antlerlike horns with sharp points. This was what gave the basilisk it's name as the king of serpents , it's crown. Nick's transfigured chains worked a charm to bind the giant snake as it tried to struggle against them angrily but he had transfigured the metal to be adamantium so it was a pointless effort. Once he was confident that it was well and truly bound he smashed the marbles containing the roosters on the ground turning them back into their bird state.-

is that what's Grindelwald is doing sacrificing towns in order to bring more magic into the world

'Ugh , why does this world have to be so much more complicated than the books showed!?' he complained mentally but didn't think it unreasonable in reality. Even more concerning was the status of the tree's health next to it's name , mana deprived. 'Does this mean that there is simply not enough ambient mana to sustain the tree? Is that why the gods seemed to vanish as well?' he pondered but simply couldn't understand the situation from this tiny piece of the puzzle.

it could be because of the fact that you're heating up the metal before enchanting it making it fluid in malleable

Nick stored the books in Greed and fell into thought about the information he had just learned. ' If metal and stone truly lack the ability to grow stronger over time as a wand then how does the growth enchantment of my rings work? Do I break some fundamental rule of magic whenever I enchant something or is there something no one has noticed missing when it's used to make wands that I have somehow added?' he pondered deeply with furrowed brows as the answer seemed to elude him.-

water? did he mean lighting

"Other than it's age I learned that the creature seemed to have the elemental affinities of both of it's parents most likely giving it an astounding mastery of fire , water and air as well as transfiguration magic. From what Dumbledore has told me this gift in transfiguration passed to you as well as a few other traits , namely your eyes." Newt said honestly and Nick nodded in agreement. "The final thing I was able to learn about the creature however is of great concern towards you as someone bound to the feather so tightly. This creature seems to have been able to store a part of it's spirit within the feather and may try to posses you if your will isn't strong enough." Newt warned before bidding farewell and leaving Nick to his thoughts.-
