Typically, the speed at which the dungeon was cleared played a huge factor in triggering the hidden boss.

Even Liam's aim was only passable because the damned vulcan was moving back and forth, only 95% of his attacks reached the horn.

They knew Liam was already Level 50 but there was no way a single Level 50 player was going to be able to defeat a Level 55 field boss on his own!

If anyone was capable of doing such an attack, it would probably be him because of his Soulmancer class but he himself had no idea how to obtain the knowledge about attacks like that.
