if it shares the damage between all the different people being affected by the spell, unless they have good health regen, it would not be that great for them. if it was hundreds of orcs, it could be alright, but with only 8, there is a limit on how much damage they can take. think if they had an hp bar. if each orc has 100 hp, they would only have 800 in the pool. so when each gets hit, it will take away some of the 800 health away. with one of them having his arm ripped off, they should have a lot missing and then add in the bleeding effect. over all, they shouldn't be doing all that well. but that is just my thoughts.
If it were any other time, the Magic Missiles would have surely torn a hole through his chest. But thanks to Alleviate, he was still alive.

by all rights he should have bled out from the wound. after all his arm was chopped off and he passed out afterwards so no way he could have dressed it in time to stop the bleeding then add in the mana loss he wouldn't have had the strength to do anything. but how else will the bad guys find out about the kitty. so sadly, he will live somehow.

just make it so other merchant and his have a ban on their family making it so no one does business with them. there is a lot merchants can do. especially one that is as powerful as your family's business.
After all, Viktor was a merchant and a very successful one at that. How could he embark on something that wouldn't bring him any benefits?

when the students come from every kingdown, you'd think they would want her to have more spots. each of them, besides the other races, would have at least one student enrolled at the school. so it would've been indirectly more beneficial to them. Seeing the best the brightest, go to the school. more likely for the kid, they have to be sent in that way. but I guess this why they know someone from their faction will go for sure and maybe an older mage with more experience.

kinda surprised Edward doesn't have a house there they could stay at with his father's background. It would make sense to have a business home or something like that they stay at when in the area for work. but that would give him away and probably be against a rule or something for the mission.
