It’s a nice gesture to their fallen comrades.

The fifth glass of whiskey remained standing on the table, untouched.

The greatest use of his shadow helper… extra hands in the kitchen.

For pancakes, though, he preferred to use fresh batter. Not wishing to make the guests wait, he manifested his shadow as an avatar and went about preparing both at the same time.

High quality materials for high quality gear.

His interest in these abominations was not at all theoretical. Powerful Memories demanded exceptional materials to be created, after all, and most of those materials came from the carcassess of slain abominations. Granted, a nobody like him rarely received an opportunity to trade for truly valuable trophies that Awakened brought back.

Torture Chamber?

The unassuming brick cottage where his shop was located was, in fact, not a cottage. It was the Marvelous Mimic, who had taken the shape of a picturesque house. Its interior existed in a separate dimension, which allowed Sunny to hide a lot of things below ground.

Eternal darkness… Forgotten shore?

Haughty, naughty, creepy, and crazy were together. Saint, Fiend, Serpent, and Nightmare were with them, as well. Unlike the first two, the third Sunny knew no peace. He wielded the most power of the three and spent his days in eternal darkness, often clashing with dreadful abominations.

Yeah he isn’t fated anymore so a school of corrupted shrimp isn’t going to just deliver themselves to him like in the tomb of Ariel.

The [Marvelous Mimic] was what Sunny had called the latest of his Shadows, which was created from the modified Covetous Coffer and the shadow of the Mordant Mimic. It was the only Shadow that he kept with himself in Bastion instead of sending it to his third avatar.

This is probably where some of those extra shadow fragments went. Makes more sense why he has so few in 4 years.

'Did I die?' she thought while taking a second more introspective look at her surroundings. 'Is this the afterlife? Am I going to be judged for my sins? Is Sunny ever going to become a saint? Why am I not freaking out more about the fact that I died?'

That’s what I thought. Nice.

Today was roughly a week since the disastrous Battle of the Black Skull.

Ahhh… yes!!!

Instead, six identical versions of him were sitting in a semicircle around him, all clad in fearsome onyx armor, staring at him with confused expressions.

"Even masters will show a moment of blunder if they're not careful. The hardest part is to make them enter this mindset. Struggle too hard and they'll think you're tenacious and try their best to kill you. Don't try hard enough and they'll kill you since you're not defending properly. It's key to strike a balance between two and once you master this, you'll be able far more fights."

I am surprised it has taken me this long to write a review for this novel considering how much I enjoy it. It’s funny because initially I only picked this story up because a different Webnovel I was reading at the time went on hiatus for about a month so I needed something to fill the void. Ended up binge reading 850 chapters over the course of 2 weeks. World building is an integral part of any story and I think it has been done masterfully here. The power system is easy to understand, well explained, and mostly balanced. I don’t feel like I am reading a story about an overpowered main character living out a power fantasy. I like knowing what the main character thinks as well as why they are doing what they are doing. It feels much more real when your characters have goals, subgoals, and then the characters thought process is laid out. It’s great because I don’t always agree with the characters course of action but because it is laid out so well I can almost always see where they are coming from and understand their line of thinking. One thing that might scare people away is the lack of romance despite it having a romance tag. If you are here for that it’s not gonna be a good time for you. Both the male and female lead aren’t good at expressing their emotions. It comes out in different ways for the both of them. Also there are a bunch of giant renchs that complicate it all further. However it is written so well you will enjoy all the twists and turns regardless. If anyone asks me what a good webnovel worth reading is this will be the first one I will point them toward.
