Cortes only had 600 men when he conquered Mexico and Pizarro only had 160 at the start when he conquered Peru...
What Leonel didn't know was that this was only due to his actions. He hadn't wanted to count the number of Spaniards he had killed, but it was over a hundred. There were only two thousand in total. He had single handedly taken down a good percentage of their army.

The conquistadors who conquered in the 16th century did not have the type of guns you guys are thinking of. The harquebus was an early type of matchlock rifle which was heavy, slow to reload and needed a constantly lit "match" which was a length of wick that had to be nursed to keep it alight. There is no practical way to carry more than one especially ready to fire off the shoulder. Flintlock weapons, which you could carry loaded and ready to fire n the manner he is describing. Didn't appear until much later. Also the swords that they used were made in Toledo and were considered the best swords in the world at the time. Toledo steel was famed for its strength and flexibility. They tested each blade by bending them to 90 degrees and they had to survive a full force blow to a metal helmet before they were sold any that failed were not sold.
Since then, he learned to tell whether the rifle was loaded or not first. His method seemed simple, but maybe he was the only one on Earth who could do it. There was a very slight weight difference, maybe fractions of a gram, between a loaded and unloaded gun. If a gun was too light, he didn't keep it.

routine exercise for gamers...
His gaze fell on the wall clock hanging above the television. "It's past 11 already?". Blake got up slowly and performed his routine exercise, then made his way to the bathroom.

salt water crocs are the biggest nastiest ones
That fish, moray eels and other piranhas were frightened was not a surprise, but that even most sharks, crocodiles and other sea monsters would choose decisively to escape clearly compromised the effectiveness of his hunt.

Mesopotamia which is in the fertile valley in the near east. Its the area between Lebanon and Iraq. From around 10,000 BCE Things like the invention of the wheel and the first true towns planting of the first cereals crops happened here etc. It Is generally considered to be a cradle of civilisation. In this area Around 3100 BC the Sumarian/Arcadian cultures developed writing (cuneiform) along with the Egyptians (hieroglyphs) which is not far outside this area. which were the first forms of written history. they were also one of the first to have bronze at around 3300 BC which led to what most people consider the start of civilisation.
Andre shook his head. "The Maya civilization might be dated back to 2,000 BC, but they only started flourishing after 600 AD. I am talking about a prehistoric civilization that was even older than the Maya civilization. Furthermore, their degree of flourishing was far beyond the Maya civilization in comparison."

its not that complicated the aether is a multiplier where the density is the division of the aether stat. So Jake's stats being 100 is then divided by the density of 40 to give you the multiplier for his physical stat. in this case 2.5 if the density is 10 then the stat of 100 is divided by 10 to give you 10 as the multiplier So Jake and everyone else gets weaker as the density increases
In an environment where the Aether density was 10, his Aether stats of more or less 100 made him ten times stronger than normal, but at a density of 40 the ratio dropped to 2.5. With his Myrtharian Body he was still far superior to a normal human, but the change was abrupt enough to make him feel the difference.

he is talking about subjective fairness. To the boy pining after the hot girl his whole world is not fair. He is less than those hot guys she talks too. They have what he wishes he could have. hence life is not fair.
Was it unfair? Or against the principle of free will? Not really. When a poor ugly introvert boy loved a girl so much that he wanted to kill himself because of the pain while she flirted with the handsome guy of the class, was it fair? Of course not.

The Wilderths all had one thing in common. They were smart. Not miraculously smart or geniuses of the century. It was actually a standard IQ of 130 or higher.
