This is different from the usual switch at birth stories. From what I understood from in the MTL, there are 3 arcs and then extras. Spoiler alert! Dont't read this review if you dont't want to be spoiled.The 1st arc is introducing the mc and her brothers. This arc focuses on how she gets along well with her family after getting remebering what will happen in the future. This is quite a light read and there are funny bits that are quite entertaining. The 2nd arc is the prison arc. This is actually just a flash back of the MC past life after her memories were triggered after meeting the real daughter - Shen Hui. There are a lot of characters, but they play different roles to the MC development. But the important ones are: Martha - MC first friend; 14th - MC prison guard; Tang Yu - a killer and leader of building 4; Si Chengyou - the person who helped the MC learn what is the human heart, the leader of building 5. There are also other people who followed the MC, but they are usually there to protect the MC. This arc is actually quite sad as this is the arc when the MC learns how to get along with the different people. MC was sent to the prison by Shen Hui in order to protect her as there is a war currently happening - war that was plotted by Shen Hui to destroy everything. While in prison, she befriends Martha, an inmate in the same building. But the MC attracted the attention of a killer. In order to make the MC leave the building premises, the killer plotted against Martha, prompting Martha to commit suicide. Martha's death triggers the MC to commit revenge, but the MC is still weak. So she reaches an agreement with Si Chengyou to help her. In the process of getting strong, she becomes acquainted with Tang Yu, and becomes close with 14th. In the end, she succeeded in her revenge and was able to kill Martha's killer, and she was also able to become the leader in building 7. The MC experienced a brief quiteness in the prison, but Si Chengyou also has his motives for approaching the MC. He wants the MC to see the world, in how he sees the world. He wants the MC to see how terrible the war is and how beautiful the world is. Because he wants the MC to have 'regrets'. But because the MC does not feel any regrets, Si Chengyou falls into despair and takes a gamble - he plots to kill himself to make the MC 'regret'. Si Chengyou died and the MC continued travelling the world. The MC destroyed the prison and took the useful people in order to pacify the wars happening outside. In the end, the MC succeeded. But she came back to the prison, and confessed in front of building 5 (Si Chengyou's former building). MC confessed that she regrets it, and then kills herself. Regret is actually the trigger for the time-space medium to work. The time-space medium is from Shen Hui and this is also what started the wars. Si Chenyou has been going back in time multiple times to change the future, but fails everytime. Everytime he goes back in time, he can only go back to a later time. He wants to kill Shen Hui so that Shen Hui won't be able to start the war. But the last time he failed, he was sent to the special prison. In order to go back in time, he needs the time-space medium, but he doesn't have it now. So he was stuck in prison. And that is when the MC came into play. He wants to use the MC for the time-space medium. But the more he interacts with the MC, the more he realizes that the MC is a true genius, and the real hero. So he pins his hopes on the MC. He wants the MC to regret so that the MC will go back to the past and change the future. And he succeeded. The arc ends with the MC committing suicide. 3rd arc is the continuation after the MC fully remembers the past. She approaches Shen Hui to help her not destroy the world. Initially, Shen Hui was hostile to her but eventually opens up to her when she realizes that she and the MC are similar. This is also the arc that shows that the MC is subconsciously plotting everything. She subconsciously got close to the eldest brother, which led to a series of interactions with the other brothers. This was something she subconsciously plotted before even having all of her memories. So she realized that she is a terrible person for plotting against her brothers. But in the end, the eldest brother helped her come into terms with it - telling her that even if she plotted against them, her feelings were sincere. Overall, this arc is also about why Shen Hui and MC was switched at birth, and the secret of the Shen family. The Shen family is actually an expirement of the same people behind the switching of Shen Hui and MC. They wanted the best person to be their experiment. They took Shen Hui because Shen Hui has the best brains, so she was subjected into different experiments that forces her to think. These experiments are what drove her to madness in the original timeline, making her destroy the world. Overall, this arc is about resolving those conflicts and how the MC tries to help Shen Hui live better despite her tragic past. This arc ends on a happy note.Then we have the extras. This arc is a continuation of the 3rd arc but focuses on Si Chengyou and how he fell in love with the MC. It was funny how he went from the unfatohomable leader of building 5 in the special prison, to a shameless guy who will do anything to get the approval of the MC brothers and sister. He is also actually a bit afraid of Shen Hui as he knows that Shen Hui used to be a madman. This is also the arc he remembered his past life with the MC. It was quite sad how he thought that they were just a match made in heaven in the past life, but the truth is that he used MC for his selfish reasons. When he got his memories back, he cried like a baby to the MC, and the brothers and Shen Hui kept taking pictures of his crying. It was a funny scene. But overall the extras ended with them being by each other's side.The real timeline: I probably missed the other details since I just MTLed the whole story. But what I have understood is that in the real time line, the MC was ignored by the Shen family because she is different from them. Aside from the fact that she is not as smart as her brothers, she also got their parents' love. This made all the other siblings jealous and isolated her. But their parents' love just lasted for a few years. One time her parents lost her in a playground and there a guy who helped her find her way back - it was Shang Junyu. As the MC lacks love, she followed this guy in school. But this bad guy used the MC to make himself better. The MC was bullied and isolated in school because of this guy. The things after that is not detailed, but it was mentioned that when they were in their 20s, Shen Hui came back and was initially hostile towards the MC. Shen Hui was subjected to different human experiments which made her a lunatic that just wants to destroy the world. But they saw similarities in each other and gradually became close. But since they met way too late, the hatred Shen Hui has still prompted her to destroy the world. To start her plans for destruction, she expiremented on the time-space medium and let the different powers fight over it. To trigger the world destruction, she commited suicide and gave the medium to the MC. As the MC was suspected to have killed the world renowned genius, Shen Hui, the MC was sent to the special prison - The broken wings prison. Shen Hui does not want the MC to die so she sent the MC to the prison to protect her. Shen Hui arranged for the MC to enter building 1 which is basically like the VIPs in the prison. The MC can stay there until she watches the world gets destroyed. The only reason why the MC continues to live is to see the get destroyed, as this is what Shen Hui wants. And the rest is the continuation of arc 2.Time-space medium: There are different ways to use the machine and it was actually described to be a very small thing. In order to use it, it needs very high energy and that is the energy before dying. It was revealed in the story that regrets before death can activate this. It cannot actually send the soul to the different timelines, but it can send memories. It also has limitations. For Shen Hui, she only sends certain memories (like memories before an assassination) so that it will have minimum impact on her and it won't change her as a person.For Si Chengyou, he goes back to the past multiple times, but everytime he goes back, it will be much later so the things he can change will become smaller and closer to the present time. I know there is a better explanation for his situation but its' too long. For the MC, she actually only uses it once, and the beginning of the story is the time she got some of the memories. But because her body cannot withstand all the memories, her memories are fragmented, until she met Shen Hui again which triggers all of her missing memories (arc 2).Overall, this story is quite good. It's not your typical fake/real daughter story. There is more to the story than what the plot summary says. I'm not sure if I will re-read it since it is quite a sad story, specially since the prison arc is about 100 chapters (out of the 289 total chapters) which is quite long. It is still a very good read. I'm sure I did not give a good summary of the story and there are a lot of points I did not mention. But this is my first attempt 😂
