methinks you forgot that it was specifically mentioned that Chinese gods are below kings and emperor's (back when he got the city god temple) which is why he allows their worship and not the demon gods worship... because he will only allow worship of God's that would be subservient to him as the ruler, and he has the imperial star so he would definitely be recognized as a true ruler by the gods there.

i have fallen in love with this story. It is well written, and the characters are believable and charismatic (in their own way... looking at you, Seri). give this book a chance if you like villain protagonists and slow burn relationship and character development. 10/10 would sub to patreon
