Sonja had come to a halt as she digested these words. 'He, wants to spend eternity with me?' Sonja was shaken to the core. This was something that she had never believed to ever be possible. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to hold this man and kiss him deeply. His confession had left her flustered. So much so that she would occasionally feel weak in her arms and end up banging her head on the wall.

Now that he had gotten a glimpse of the kind of powerhouse that stood near the summit of his enemies power Kace knew that he still had so far to go. He would have to dedicate even more time to his training and gaining as many useful skills as possible. Otherwise, when the time came that he could not tuck tail and run a powerhouse like that one could wipe the floor with him for breakfast.

Hey Kace, there might be just a little chance that Grudga is a prisoner as well. I like the cold attitude but Grudga so far has been a pretty decent friend.

His eyes flashed with anger at having been unable to finish the job. 'Why should I care about any of them? Even Grugda, despite what we've been through, never came to help me. Why should I allow any of them to live?'

'So, she noticed, huh? Despite that, she's choosing to protect his assets? He's even more of a threat than I thought he was.'

The stories helped to pass the time and alleviate the boredom that they all felt. Kace studied the walls that were protecting the city within as closed the distance with the gate. 'Why does it look like it's just survived a major war?' Kace wondered.

As they were marched along some of them shared stories with him about fighting alongside his ancestors years ago. They were greatly heartened to see that his race had not perished. More than one of them was only still alive today due to the feats of the Eljein during the war.

Only Raven and Sophia we're spared the experience due to their respective status. A few of the vampires realised which race Grugda belonged to when they moved to bind him. Although he was not spared the same fate, the soldiers treated him with respect.

Kace felt a little helpless standing by the side. Even though their conversation was about him, it was as though they were completely ignoring his existence. 'I have no interest in political power plays. Just give us a way home and whoever your pillar is and ill be in my way.' He thought while clicking his tongue.
