technically speaking, Ophis and Great Red aren't really dragons. They're personified concepts, they can take whatever form they want to. It's just that dragons are commonly seen as the strongest race in the world so powerful beings like the two dragon gods basically just default to said race, and people who meet them generally assume they are just REALLY strong members of the dragon race.
How do I explain what I am to people? I can't say I'm the most powerful existence in this universe or my thoughts alone could erase all life in this multiverse.. that could come off pretentious. Technically incorrect, what you have to understand is that in the world of danmachi, "genkai" or the mortal world is very much a playground for the gods. Even the antagonistic gods like Enyo are mostly just playing around( though they still are jerks make no mistake). The falna is a system that rewards andventurers based on their achievements. The more "story" worthy the act, the greater the increase. In order to rise up quickly you basically have to continuously perform a "story" that is worthy of being noticed by the gods up in "tenkai" or the divine realm. the more gods paying atention, the greater the falna so using strong weapons isn't counter productive in itself, it's just boring and not very interesting for the gods watching so you don't get much out of it. Falna was created by Ouranos and a few other gods to increase the number of "story worthy" mortals around after the hype of Argonaut and the blind poet seeing as very few people were rising up to the challenge and genkai would be completely wreked by the one-eyed black dragon and the dungeon, which would remove the main source of godly entertainment around.
I made my way to my bed and laid Fateweaver across my lap, before linking my mind with the blade. This process took another full day, but by the end of it, I felt a sort of psychic 'click' and I knew that I had done it. I stored Fateweaver and promptly fell asleep from exhaustion once the whole process was complete. The entire thing had taken me over a week in total, and had required long hours of work into the night every day, but I knew that it would all be well worth it. I couldn't wait to test my new weapon within the dungeon now. I had a feeling that I would experience an exponential growth in leveling speed after this.

Okay this need's to be used more, srsly the lord's name hurting devils was only ever used in the og as a plot point for asia and such. I would love a fic with a sassy/sadistic MC just reading psalms from different holy scriptures and the world around him( especially evil aligned creatures like the Devils or Dragons) just going absolutely bonkers. Could you imagine? Him swearing in Gods name would just be his most basic attack like: Mc: Jesus H.Christ, Fin God D@*#it ! and the low class devils around him just burst into flames! It would be GLORIOUS if done right.

wait now that I think of it why do we all assume he's Greek? or even from the Greco-Roman pantheon for that matter? All that's been said was that he's godly parent is male, has some form of control over snow, cold or water, and that his visions are unique to him amongst his siblings - sidenote that also means he DOES have siblings - so his father could totally be from another pantheon altogether.
