Maybe because "Kemono no Ko" sounds more poetic? I mean, It's technically not wrong... But I agree, Kemonobito or Jyuujin would be more accurate to describe beastfolk.
The final tribe, the beast tribe, depicted the grand variety of Kemono no ko, the children of the beast. Despite their vastly different appearances they were the most cohesive of the tribes even compared to the elves and fey. Their issue was that they were spread amongst the others, nomads for many years they had settled around the globe.

I'm not sure what exactly it is that you're saying is a mistake but I'm assuming that you're talking about the spelling/specific term. "Soy" milk and "Soya" milk are the exact same thing just different spelling and are used by people who live in different areas and/or countries.
The food that Wu Mo ordered for breakfast was relatively light. Soy milk, fried dough sticks, and two eggs could provide him with energy for the entire morning.
