although it isn't explained at all we can more or less imagine their relationship from his thoughts on the first chapter, also, his previous actions are being shown bit by bit, from this we can see that he tried to give all his juniors a place were they could grow in peace and a friendly face at their level, he also seemed to take them out shopping and such, the thing that isn't explained well at all or even makes sense is the extreme reactions of his juniors that should at the very least like him enough to ask him for reasons.
