Gonna just point this out here, this isn't a thing in canon. The reason Joey was accepted for his Red-Eyes was due to the Rare Hunters/Ghouls (in the Japanese dub) changing his Star Rating to the minimum of 4 so they could use the Ante to steal his Red-Eyes.However, this is entirely irrelevant to the story, as this seems to be an AU anyway, so I'll just say this so people don't get confused.

But in the real world, Robin wasn't the dragonborn. So the dragon soul right now was forcefully making his soul into a soul of the dragonborn. Basically it was reverse engineering the process!! Robin's soul was being made into a soul of the Dragonborn and for this reason he was suffering endless torture in his mind.

I mean, yes, but not as BS as you'd think. See, Dragonborns in Skyrim are humans with the soul of a Dragon, so it stands to reason that if someone were to obtain a Dragon soul, he'd be a Dragonborn as well. However, as there is no real way to obtain Dragon souls in the game, we have no concrete proof.
