take a look at what most anime do. Ichigo: oh wow! i get a huge sword other neat powers. rukia: nope. only a sword. you suck at magic Issei: wow. I'm a devil and i get to use imagination based magic rias:nope to little magic power for that. got study and grow into it. Talion maybe skilled but if the guys he ends up fighting are fittingly skilled or have a wide variety of spells(e.g. Hermione could probably have a spell that makes turning your head to left impossible without shifting the whole body too.

speak for yourself, I personally always thought it was a thread from some forgot 4chan era site. but considering the "quality" of some fanfic I can agree that it suits. as tribute to my fellow brethren look up "the darkness of konoha". heres's your hook: Boruto and Sasuke show up and find Naruto. Boruto: "Dad?!" Naruto: "Die Hyuuga!"
Then again, Boruto was just a fanfiction, so who knows how that would turn out in reality? Not like Ren would see it, so there was no reason to think further about it.

Set a small arc goal. Some event or situation that you'd like the mc to face or be involved in. Set what he's got as a current toolbox and see if he can solve it with what he has See if you have enough characters established to make the arc possible. See how your characters and mc need to grow to complete this arc. Set up a bunch of "this would be so cool" points. And start writing with ONLY the arc in mind. If those points fit what you're writing add it. Don't try to force them in. And try it have fun with this. You have a character as capable as Dexter without the psychopathic tendencies. That sounds like a guy who can be a troll and now one can touch him or prove it was him, heck no one would believe it was him [img=proud]
