I'm getting the feeling that your version of Gomu is slowly becoming more like Goku's original inspiration... Sun Wukong. If that's his intention, it would be interesting if at some point he unknowingly ate those immortal peaches just because they taste good. It doesn't necessarily have to be peaches, but it could be something analogous from some universe out there. Another place where he could learn skills analogous to his counterpart from Chinese myths would be Bleach, because of all that Shinigami stuff and such.
