I alyways appreciate other's POV and thoughts, feelings, etc. In novels. So i did indeed like this, even if it was a bit forced (i mean, dude was the lowest of the low, should've at least given him a little bit of goodness, to make him seem at least pitiable. But that's my opinion.)
