While I can imagine discrimination against muggleborns being a thing. it's hard for me in fanfics to accept gender discrimination because nothing beats such a thing faster than basically everyone carrying a gun ready to shoot your kneecap in.
The rest of the lengthy discussion was where she explained the workings of the magical world to my dad directly, confirming various places and laws in place. As I listened to her explanations, I learned that Muggleborns have had basic rights, including gender equality, for thousands of years. It was a surprising revelation, one that clashed with the prejudices I had read about in some of the fanfictions.
