Maybe the reason that he got the jutsus really quick and not the control exercises is because the exercises don't have an affinity for the Elemental Affinity talent/perk to boost? I don't really know, I might be wrong.

I thought it was because she didn't have that much chakra that she has good chakra control? So, it shouldn't be that easy for the mc, who has a lot more than her.

I think it is good that he is kinda hiding his talents, or more like downplaying his talents, especially because people like Danzo and Orochimaru are still around.

As long as you write relationships that have actual connection, I don't really mind either option. Maybe wait for a little bit more, consider if the personality of the MC is a good match for a character, and go from there. Either way, love the story so far, looking forward for more.

It could be interesting to see John be tossed to any of the Persona series, I would, personally, like to see him in Persona 5. He could be in any of the dungeons like the T.V/Shadow World or Mementos, and he would be mistaken as a powerful Shadow or Reaper.

I'm not sure if this late or not, but maybe there is a skill that could coat a weapon with magic?
Obviously, I will take the position as a magic caster, I choose this position with a couple of things in mind. Firstly, I don't trust these guys so I'd rather stay in the back of the group where I won't be backstabbed unknowingly. Second, I would rather choose the safest spot to be in while challenging a unknown dungeon, besides since I'm partying with these randoms I'd rather let them get hurt and/or die instead of me. Third, is because I'm more proficient in magic rather then being a melee attacker.

The fights were decent, the abilities are pretty good if basic, I guess, but, ignoring some lightning brows, the girls were pretty hot, especially Kenichi's mom.
