I disagree. Sunny thinks of himself as a selfish person, but his actions contradict that. In chapter 328, Cassie thinks to herself: "Sweet Sunny, who pretended to be callous and cruel, but was actually caring and kind." I think Sunny's life in the Outskirts forced him to act a certain way to survive, and he convinced himself it didn't bother him.

I actually do think Nephis is at least partially a satire of OP webnovel protagonists, as seen from another person's perspective.

I don't understand where the idea that Cassie hoped Sunny would die comes from. If she wanted him dead, she could have said his name and ordered him to kill himself. It seems clear to me that she hoped Nephis could use his name to get both of them out alive, and guess what? It worked.

No, I'm pretty sure "me" is correct. Which would you say: "Everyone died except me" or "Everyone died except I"? You use the same word as you would if the other person weren't there.
