I just got to chapter 37, and I have to say, so far it’s pretty good. It’s not overly edgy while also not being a slopfest where the protagonist gets pandered to in every way, shape, and form. Aren feels less like a regressed person and more like a kid who has matured after absorbing his future self’s memories, which I think is a good thing since it makes everything less weird and leaves room for him to grow as a character. The writing quality is good, and while I have noticed an issue here and there, they have not broken the story’s flow. I love the characters so far. I love Aren. I love Lily. I love Luna. I liked Abby, and Captain Eric is one of the very rare “responsible adult” types in cultivation stories. The world-building so far is great. A lot of authors tend to dump a ton of information about the world and its systems in the first 30 chapters instead of letting us experience it firsthand alongside the characters, and so far this has not been the case. I can’t say much about the story yet since I’m only on chapter 37, but so far it’s a pretty generic start, and I believe this aspect could either make this story a gem or leave it as just something fun to read. I know is this deserves at least top 3 in fresh.
As someone whose favorite literary devices are similes and metaphors, I have absolutely loved your writing so far.
