Not to be a "uhhh, actually", but just a little bit of random information for you folks to know, because where from if not from fanfic you'll learn this. Bridal carry is very exhausting for the rescuer and is harmful to the injured one. It's the most obvious thing an amateur would do, but Izuku mentions rescue protocols??? I can't say for sure, since there are different ways to carry a person, but usually when someone is injured – and you have no other choice but to move them AND it's not back injury – you carry them in fireman's carry (Google it for better picture, basically you carry injured person over one or both shoulders). Problem with rare or complicated words is that you need to control contrast. If your whole work is written in rather modern and simple language, then it would look out of place to throw smartish words in. But you can use them in someone's else perspective or in speech of someone poetic/old/atrsy. Riveria, for example. You can also use them in dramatic or tense moments to empathise the difference in tone :D
Should I go back to using the words from previous chapters, or keep it that way?
