I think its more looks like Emprerial Russia, they had very bad treatment of slaves. It is also one of the last civilized countries in Europe, which abolished slavery.

In Arknights children abusing is normal. Like everyone in Yelena squad was childrens from Ursus mines( Yeah,they were infected, but I think in, its just one of the examples. Like Amiya became the leader of Rhodes Island when she was 14 year old).
