I noted when Elora’s mother’s name was said to be Morganae that it was suspiciously arthurian, then the hint about someone doing magic to the girls dna I certainly lept at Merlin. Elora has alread show fey hyberdize species they mate with, and our boi teleported right in front of her. Was it all Eloras mom, did she maybe even start the shapshifter or maybe just this Lefay line?
Aria Lefay was a descendant of the infamous Morgan Lefay and a wereserpent with the shadow affinity. Shadow and darkness related to each other, much like water and ice did, with one being a stronger version of the other.

Assuming vlad was not killed in 1476, and he was born in 1431, if he lived max vampire llifespan 200 years and had a kid the year he died, 1631. that kid then lived 200 years and also has a kid the year he died, 1831. then that kid is this council guy and hes gota be near death with his life near done in 2031. That said its unlikely 2 generations to have kids so late so maybe vampires live longer than 200, or the year in present earth which i dont think has been stated is not as high as we would think.

That said, Emma's still barely even rank one magic had minimal effect on his powerful body. But it was the thought that counts. He knew Emma would grow more powerful eventually.
