But I thought to myself, what if I can save everyone? It is such a foolish thought, you can't save everyone, I learned that quickly in my first deployment in the army, my first war, I lost so many comrades in battle. War is brutal and bloody, you can only save the ones who are most important, the rest are... Fodder ready to get slaughtered. I gritted my teeth at such a selfish thought, when did I become so evil? So... Magellan is dangerous even for Haki users because his poison covers his body. I remind you, it is not a Logia but a Paramecia. The only ones who can fight him without taking heavy damage afterwards are those who have advanced Armament Haki, allowing them to strike without being affected. This got me thinking, and I agree with you on some things. The zone is an extreme concentration, allowing you to use 100% of your brain and physical abilities. However, to some extent, the Pokémon can take orders passively. What I mean is that it hears the orders but does not focus on them, allowing it to maintain this state. However, as it hears the orders, it can carry them out with its subconscious. I guess my explanation is bad, but I don't really know how to explain it in writing.
"As soon as he approaches, evade, tire him out by making him chain attacks, stay close to his moves but don't get hit," I have confidence in Mavis—even at close quarters, she won't get hit.

What I thought of while writing this scene:
Charmeleon grinned, striking a ninja pose with one hand extended to the side and the other in front of his face. He took a breath, then followed up with a combo of dual-handed Metal Claw, breaking his promise, lifting Golem off the ground with each strike, propelling him higher and higher. The attacks unleashed at a monstrous speed, not giving Golem a moment to breathe. Then, Charmeleon performed a spinning jump, slashing Golem violently, sending him behind him. Golem fell with a thud as Charmeleon maintained the pose, both arms extended, head lowered, and a smirk, though he was out of breath.

I plan to further develop Edgar's character later by giving him a power-up. I wanted to portray him as an excellent trainer but with not enough Pokémon, limiting his choices in critical situations. Additionally, I aim to depict a gap between him and Archer, creating a sort of divide that he must bridge to become stronger and realize what he lacks. I can understand the disappointment, but it was intentional. Azurion had sent him on an investigation, not a battle, so I remain convinced that the way I've written the story is the right path to follow.

Completely, I'm glad someone knows these stories. Well, I didn't get into "New Normal," but I've read many stories inspired by it, and I've enjoyed them immensely. I'm a fan of "Hard Enough"; I didn't expect much when I started it, and I really appreciated it. I've also drawn inspiration from other incredible stories, particularly "Rocket's Exterminator"(BANIX) which I recommend to any Pokémon fan. It's mostly "Rocket's Exterminator" that convinced me to write a Pokémon fanfic with a specialist as the main character.
