But if you end up as an emotionless robot who thinks of nothing but cultivation as a result of that "enlightenment", what is the point? It's not necessarily about romance, but about everything. Cultivation for the sake of cultivation must be about as boring and awful as working for the sake of working; nine times out of ten, it's a soulless and boring character that ends up being created. Just my two cents anyway. You're obviously free to write the story you want.
It should be considered that just maybe, maybe cultivation leads to more than just physical prowess. It should be considered that the enhancement that results from unlocking the mental and physical prowess of an organism will affect its emotions or how it perceives the world.

Unfortunately the stats still doesn't really make sense to me (not that i ever knew what the old stats were like). I think adding levels and stats were a mistake if you're not willing to be very thorough with it. Overall your system is ok as long as we ignore the level and stats.

Elric, on the other hand received the least of their attention as he never showed any kind of promise in any sector even if was related to education. What if some of them were innocent though?
As for the people Kahn killed.. Not a single one of them was a saint. Some had killed, some had rap*d women & even young girls under 18 years and some even killed the victims after they did the crime. But all of these people were declared innocent due to lack of evidence and witnesses. In some cases, the witnesses disappeared overnight before the hearing itself. The first book was completely filled with this information. Every page had one of such individuals and all the details on them.

He speaks as if he knows the whole life story of the people he killed, even though he knows nothing. That's some pretty weak justification imo. You're just a merciless killer who would do anything for some benefits. Not necessarily a bad thing, but why the pointless justification? It feels self-righteous as heck.
So there was no need to feel sorry for someone who wouldn't think too much about the value of life in the first place.

Emotion are only shackles if you see them as shackles. Looking at the title and what you wrote so far, I don't think the MC will be free from greed anytime soon...and yes, those are the results of emotion too.
I would like to expect freedom from the shackles of emotions and hormones from what should be better men. The power system in this book aims for self-supremacy( Supremacy of the mind and the body). So no, no romance or harem. There won't be a pursuit for the pleasure of the flesh.
