I’m getting “” I’m standing on a million lives” vibe from this.
…But were they, really?

Maybe the water thing means something. Like when you need to wake a heavy sleeper from deep sleep you grab a bucket of wand splash it on his face.
...And of course, he was thrown straight into the damn river.

😑 I’m on on book 7
Before he could fully process the implications of this image, Sunny followed a strange instinct. Without allowing himself time to think about it, he opened his mouth, put the phalanx inside… and swallowed it.

Princess carry for the girl. Sac of potatoes for the boy.
After returning to the site, Jun Wu Xiao hoisted him onto his shoulders and ran back to the cave.

Can’t wait to find the person that reincarnated with the path of dual cultivation
A question mark appeared in Jun Wu Xiao's mind – he couldn't believe that she couldn't walk. Given her current condition, she could probably defeat another Dao San Qian if needed. But if she wanted to play around, he was willing to play along:

The man will probably be emperor by the time they meet next. He seems to have the same origin of imortal human emperor in other stories .
"Agreed, let's decide on that. After twenty years, whenever you have your breakthrough, just come here. You can directly find me here, as by then, I probably won't be waging wars but handling official duties." Chu Wu agreed.

"Ah, no. It's just that I've never been asked about these matters before, so my mind didn't quite know how to handle this situation at first. I was thinking about how to deal with such scenarios in the future."

They are like 8 year olds trying to come up with an imaginary game. I guess that is what you get when you don’t see people in so long.
Jun Wu Xiao thought for a moment and realized she was right because when she had him pinned down, it was indeed an opportunity for her to attack. He said:

I feel like some deity ripped fallen cultivators souls and stuck them in this world just to see how they would react. Or the usual plot of their world is about to face impending doom and needed warriors to prevent its destruction.
Jun Wu Xiao did not wonder why she felt this way. After all, he himself had suddenly disliked his own weakness and chose to become stronger. He found Yue Guang quite interesting and asked:

Déjà vu
Jun Wu Xiao, seeing their cooperative attitude, felt no need to force them. He said, "I will descend from the wall first. Once you all have assembled, we will head to the meeting point. Oh, and have your armies cease-fire to leave a space in the middle for our talk."

Samson is that you?
"I haven't been injured yet, how could I possibly run away? Even if they outnumber me, they won't be able to do anything." Jun Wu Xiao declared.

Ah this came two paragraphs late
"Ah, but calling it practice doesn't seem quite right. I think 'cultivate' is a more suitable term. That's settled then, from now on I will refer to my practice as cultivation. Onward! I've just taken a step on the way of cultivation, and the road ahead of me is still very long." Jun Wu Xiao said.

So I just wanted to give you a review about your openning. What I got from that chapter was that we have a muscle head mc (yes I understand that you said that he is slightly above average on the intelligence scale but you showed no evidence of such), a millitary father, and a mysterious force that is pushing him to become stronger by preventing intervention of his training and providing him with motivation and cause to train. All in all I enjoyed the consept but this chapter sense of flow feels like I am on choppy ocean water and honestly makes my brain to miss certain pieces of information. I’m perfectly fine with a snapshot of different parts of an mc’s life but it needs to not be so and time pass and time pass. I personally wouldn’t be so critical of this, but I’ve read so many stories were the comment section will read ok I’m dropping here. It seems that this is the first story you are writing so I know as time goes on you will get better at flow and it may also be just something lost in translation. Ps I’m sorry for long comment this is probably the only one.

Potential spoilers Knowing the true purpose of this fight after reading this story changes the way I view each cut she makes on him. I feel the torment in her as she is forced to cause such suffering to her dear friend. The pain in her heart as she sees the trust they once had slowly shattered by her own hand. The anguish of being viewed as a loathsome enemy by the one you would risk sacrificing your life’s purpose for. And then find out it was truly pointless.
He wasn't done yet. He refused to be defeated, he refused to give up…

Ahh yes this is right before she shoves him off the platform to his supposed death
"Keep sharpening your sword, Sunny. I expect big things from you."

What's worse, their web seemed to be made not out of spider silk, but out of thin metal wires that were as tough as iron and could cut the victim into little pieces if it thrashed too much after getting caught.

I think this will transfer much better into an anime than that did. Personally I hate it it tries to hard to be edgy and keeps repeating the same info dumps over and over.
Sunny felt a sickening premonition that he was right. If so, things were going to turn from bad to harrowing pretty fast...
