Noland's second journey with the Lvneel king to confirm the gold city, maybe he dropped the log book and the book somehow ended up getting knocked up streamed and eaten by Nola in the sky island. it's still farfetch but that is the only possible way that the book could end up in the snake stomach. and how did the book dropped? maybe in a desperate attempt to prove to the king that the city of gold indeed exists, Noland tried to show him the log book and being a king that feels he just got pranked, he went rabid and smacked the book and that's how the book got dropped. but hey, it's just my theory
But when they arrived, Skypiea was gone, shot up into the clouds by a Knock-Up Stream. Everything Noland had described, the golden bell, the ancient city, all of it had vanished without a trace.
