I should probably clarify that this is from a picture book I read a while ago.

Morrigan was the mother form of a maiden-mother-crone triplet, three goddesses as one, except when they weren't. Heroines in her service were Ravens, the heroes Crows.

if I remember right, there was a young girl with abusive parents who ran away into a Forrest. while in the Forrest, she encountered a golden horseman at dawn, a red horseman at dusk, and finally, a black horseman at night before she found Baba Yaga's house that stands on two chicken feet surrounded by a fence of bones with skulls on top. the young girl asked Baba Yaga if she could stay at her house because it was night, and Baba Yaga said that she could stay there for three nights if she performed every chore she told her to perfectly, and if she messed up even once, she would eat her. And then the young girl does every chore perfectly until the third day where she nearly made a mistake when a mouse helped her, and then she left home or something I don't remember.

I should probably clarify that you're supposed to put the other hand on the lower end of the haft while doing the strike. Also, I got this information from a YouTuber called scallagrim, he has a lot of videos on weapons, weapon techniques, and HEMA generally.
As I may have mentioned, it is a more aggressive weapon. It is prone to strikes rather than parries, and though you can thrust with some axes, most are meant to be swung in arcs. Long, slow, powerful arcs. Which makes them easy to block with a shield.

I heard that some vikings didn't put metal rims around their shields so that they could trap swords that get wedged in the wood too much.
I pulled my shield from my inventory. "Find a smith to put a metal rim around the edge of that. I'll have duties during the day, we will be training at night by torchlight, if we can find a suitable place."

lava has the consistency of super thick honey, and it's also not fire. It's melted rocks, and it's really heavy.
