while not all gods of different universe is made of grain since it's Nasuverse thing they still made or a portion of what they're made of ether and ether is the highest(?) purity of mana or energy (?) possible and black barrel deletes those plus it also put the concept of natural lifespan on the enemy so while not effective against other universe's god it still an anti energy weapon
The conclusion I arrived at after analyzing things from other people, A Spear made of Ether that imposes Limited Lifespan on whatever it hits.
