The reason we know about that form of colorblindness (the merging of colors) would likely be that some people argued, or otherwise said, that there were less colors than everyone else could see. A common example of this colorblindness is Red-Green colorblindness if you want to research more on it.
It's one of those things that got me thinking back then. Like, how did people discover color blindness? How did someone eventually notice that the 'red' a person is seeing, might actually be different from the 'red' that everyone else sees?

OOOH OOH I KNOW THIS ONE!So the colorblindness that is most known to people in the world is one that merges two or more "visible"' colors into one solid color as a result of some pigment in the cones in your eyes. As I recently learned this I have less experience with other forms of colorblindness but I hope this helps with the discussion. Although he is correct in that we might never know what form of "blue" is actually blue. Someone might see our blue as our red, if that makes any sense. We have yet to discover most things about the mind so it's hard to tell if there is one "true" blue color for everyone.
