Im wondering when this part was supposed to happen, cause the first chapters imply Patriza was the only one who knew as she said Petronilla had acted exactly the same, and didnt act weird when she said she’d become the queeness. Is this a continuity issue, or was her going back as well added last minute? Idk its unclear

Lucio became exactly like his father, or at least is on his way there. father’s wife didnt recieve favor, was infirtile, and treated indifferently. So is Patriza. Father had a mistress who he loved and who bore his child, Lucio has a mistress who he loves and had originally planned to bear his children. Lucio was an abused child of a mistress, and litterally chose his wofe for her supposed infertility! He was an unhappy child, yet basically TRYING to repeat the cycle at this point 😒

See this is where i find it funny. both rosemond and her personal maid were locked up and were nearly put to death. so if he helped patriza he couldve solved this issue once and for all! No rosemond= no proof of his wrongdoings. he honestly just made it harder for himself, since he could easily gotten away from her the moment patriza became regent and locked rosemond up.
So, the pair's alliance was not truly an alliance in its essential sense. This was just Rosemond's will. He responded to her because this was what she wanted, and he followed because she wanted it. In the first place, he couldn't do anything about his predicament.

I think i remember that January was supposed to be 10-20 years younger, with her son (and marriage) being 20 years old, shes prolly in her early 40’s, which i’d think is still fine to marry and such
