you should probably throw in there somewhere that this is a doormat story, since a lot of people, myself included, hate doormat stories with a passion. nothing against you if you're just trying to collect all the 1 star reviews though, I'll admit you got me pretty good there. if you aren't purposefully trying to get a bunch of bad reviews then my apologies, it's hard to know what someone's personality is gonna be like when they write a doormat story. got to chapter 20 when I realized there was never gonna be any hope of improvement, stuck through the first arc of the mc being powerless surviving that first nightmare, but then when I got past that part and realized he was even more powerless than before with zero apparent potential for growth and constant immediate threat of death or enslavement with near zero change even after going through all that stuff when most others apparently become significantly better looking, I realized this was firmly within the doormat category. if I were to write a story like this, even if I was incredibly shameless and only took into consideration the people who enjoyed doormat stories, I'd still only rate the story at 3 stars, and that's assuming I actually enjoyed doormat stories myself. but I can understand that you might lose your frame of reference for something after working on it for so long, so I guess it's fine, just maybe try to throw "doormat" in there somewhere, even if it's just mentioning offhand that someone called it a doormat story, even if you deny it by saying it gets better later on(which I highly doubt).

ah yes, all those people who were previously described as soulless and downtrodden with no hope in life, are now described as obsessed. consistency? what's that?

"O...okay", Van remained staring at Beatrice. He was familiar with the expression that Beatrice was giving off. Almost everyone in his home had it… a look of obsession.

ah yes, I can see it now "my name is Evan van hermes, you killed me, prepare to die."

"Hm… Okay, Van", Beatrice once again nodded before proceeding to walk towards the auditorium, with Van following him a few meters from behind.

not beaten half to death, just beaten to death.

"I… see", Evans' slightly backed away due to the somewhat weird vibes the female student is emitting. Was it… alright to trust her? The last time someone guided him in the academy, he was beaten half to death.

"Please, please don't leave me alone here", his father's embrace grew tighter as tears fell down from his face, "I will die if you leave me alone. You are all I have left in this world"

I went to a school with around 4 thousand students and it was only about twice the size of a normal rural school with 200 tbh, though I guess that isn't including the housing they would need...

The academy was, in a word, gigantic. It, after all, housed almost 5,000 students. If you include the staff, then it will be even more. If one were not familiar with the geography of the school, then one was bound to get lost.

and what about the dungeon people were entering with 1 team every minute? since there's no escape function that means it's at least cleared once every minute and a half if there are MASSIVE death rates, meaning it'd break within an hour if not less.

This meant as long as dungeons were cleared a specific number of times under a very short duration, there was a possibility of breaking them. I knew something like this was huge, as it would put me in the middle of this taking a leading role for the time to come. Nobody could clear dungeons as many times as me without tiring out. Unless many hunters formed tens of teams to target one dungeon, they wouldn't be able to match my rate

I mean I ain't no hunter but I can go 7 rounds, so imagine what a man who literally never runs out of energy can do.

So, last night was different to say the least, as I found myself getting some sleep later than usual. The food and...everything else hit the spot, taking my mind off the many thoughts constantly clashing in my head. A hunter's stamina was nothing to laugh at

that's why they call it balancing checks

At the bottom of the folder that she had laid down, a name was written among many. Noah Osmont was clearly apparent at the bottom of the many stacks of paper.

one of his first trips said he found 39 if I'm not mistaken, not sure about the exact number but it did show it after he finished farming for the day on one of the first dungeons. he never absorbs them and just sells them though.

As for the [Core]s, anything below rank C found in the ring would be sold, and I began absorbing the rank C [Vitality] and [Strength] cores. I had both the ones that went as my share plus Anderson's, so it was a sizable amount, but I was only able to bring [Strength] to 167 and [Vitality] to 170.

funny how he got 2 c rank items and it says he'll be selling "a few of the c rank items", in other words, he's selling all of the items.

The rank D items would all be getting sold, along with a few rank C pieces that I wouldn't be wearing as I waited for the [Item]s that I took off Anderson's body to self-repair. I damaged them pretty heavily with [Explosive Rune], but they should be fully repaired by tomorrow

yeah and b for 25% increase on a single stat, that gap between ranks is huge!

I began by checking the [Ring of Storage] that I had taken of Anderson's hands. In it were a multitude of [Core]s, [Item]s, and 2 [Skill Book]s. I was extremely content with the finding as a majority of the cores were rank C, with 8 rank D items and 2 items that were rank C, [Lightning Boots], and [Fiery Helm]. The two skill books were also both rank C, being [Resilience: Defense and healing effects are increased by 50%] and [Supercharged- Energy rumbles through you, increasing casting speed by 50%]

still waiting for the ranking reveal. unless the author just decided ranks aren't a thing anymore despite having no number system in place for skills, aka trashing the story.

I didn't feel particularly bad from taking everything from the dead man as my thoughts quickly moved forward to what I'll be doing next. I reached my hand out to identify the skill book that this C ranked TITAN dropped. Much to my surprise, it was a skill called [Smite- Pass down your ruling in the form of 10 swords of light!]

ah yes, the firey lazer beam that doubled as a baseball bat. because flames definitely have weight and physical resistance. realism.

In our tenth room. We're facing 19 statues which made things much harder. A few of the statues broke away from the defense of the two tanks with a huge shield and ran towards me. I acted quickly to cast flames of torment and swung the line of flames as if it was a huge baseball bat to push them away. Rachel dashed back a few seconds later to finish them off.
