It’s been a long time coming, and I can’t think of a reason someone wouldn’t be hyped to see the end of meln and night.

I had almost forgotten about the world tree and it’s quest to mess around and find out. I wonder who will find the Ears first?

I’m almost seasick from the back and forth of this conversation; it’s great to know that legions writing skills are still in effect and top notch as always :)

Well, we do know that there are other beings on morgar from earth, (the eldritch who plays dnd) so I’d say it’s fair to assume morgar is aware to some extent of the phenomena. It stands to reason, considering liths brief time as an alien that other creatures from other places may have been sucked in as well. I’d definitely say some died, but as our eldritch friend implies, morgar may have been experimenting with abomination hybrids for some time. That makes it seem to me that many likely were consumed by their abomination portion or crushed it and killed their old selves. If they became full abominations then it also stands to reason that they may have been killed as such or starved.

I figure they probably should have blasted the monster tide with the anhilation, my guess is that it’s likely that the fortress draws power from the “troops” defending it which in turn lets it defend them. Or that’s what it was intended to do. If they kill the monsters then the fortress loses its amplifiers and can be whittled down until it’s destroyed.

I wonder if lith is going to stick with the name war or change it to something more symbolic to its new purpose. War is a pretty hard name to beat in terms of simplicity and meaning! I’m excited to see what tomorrows chapters will bring :)

Moar-gar?

It serves as a reminder of “why” lith fights. He’s not a merciless war machine that fights because that’s what it’s meant to do. He does so because he’s grown to love his family, because he understands what it means to be without, to have, and what it would mean to lose it all. Without chapters like these there’s a lot less weight to the battles that legion writes so well.

I wonder if Lith used one of his recording devices in order to collect all the evidence he needs to ensure that even if he doesn’t kill those two fools the royals do it for him. It seems his style, particularly with his promise of punishments for the guilty parties. I’m sure he has enough royal pardons to get away with an on the spot execution for both of them, with the potential of mitigating evidence to take things from outright murder to a simple slap on the wrist for taking the law into his own hands.

Well one foe was beaten, probably the toughest one we will see. But there still needs to be a challenge for our heros! I also suspect that the fallen races healing themselves might be super important for solus and liths healing process and likely have ramifications for other plot threads like Jurni, Orion, and Vastor digging to greedily and too deep and facing consequences far more severe than any balrog.

I just binged about two weeks of chapters. Boy am I glad I waited until now! The battle to capture Philoria, the emergence of two of the first kings companions, the healing bond of lith, solus, and kamila. It felt awesome to read all in one go and not have to worry about having to move cliff hanger to cliff hanger. I’m just really lucky that this chapter isn’t a major cliff hanger as well :) Anyways, see y’all in two weeks!

No one expects the physics inquisition!

Mental strain mostly. He and solus have a lot of combined power, but they have mental limits. Even if his demons are the ones doing the casting keeping them supplied with mana and focusing hard enough to keep them on the field must be a massive burden.

It’s important to remember that lith and solus are two different people at times like these. Without the towers ability to channel world energy lith would only be able to channel a fraction of his might, and he’d be prone to so badly over exerting himself that he’d likely have died by now. that’s not to mention anything of solus’s input as an individual emotionally and strategically. Without a host solus withers away and her powers diminish until it’s like they never were. Together they excel, but divided they would be only middling in effective power.

I mean he stormed out before they could say anything after his impassioned speech. They may well have agreed, but only after seeing his determination and having heard his words. They seem like a real ace up his sleeve, and ace that he doesn’t know he has but will likely be in dire need of.

Thank you for your comment! I was feeling a bit sick after todays chapters and you reminded me that the droid march was a thing I could listen to. Now I’m imagining lith rolling up on the golden griffon like it’s the battle for Coruscant, troop ships, vulture droids and droid gunships soaring and screaming through the sky, tanks, spider droids, hail fire droids, droidikas, and the ever present clanking of the booted feet of standard and super battle droids moving accross the ground in a tide of implacable metal. That’s made things a fair bit better :D
