He must have been from a different country or a very small rural town or something because you couldn't get away with that in America for long. That excuse might work a couple of times, but it never would if it was constant, and the child said he was being abused. It's required by law in many states for a teacher to call CPS if they witness evidence of abuse
But before I could explain myself and everyone else that those bruises came from them. They would tell everyone that I love getting into fights and would always come home bruised up. So no one believed me when I say they abuse me, they always put on this happy family facade infront of everyone.

Anyway, when we exited the cave, we eventually ran into the same Goblins from canon and they were, understandably, quite afraid of a pair of two super powerful monsters walking through the forest. I mostly ignored them though and allowed Rimuru to do most of the talking. I wasn't really a leader type like Rimuru was. Sure I had many ideas on how to eventually run Tempest, but in terms of actually ordering people around, that wasn't really my style.

No one would know it at the time, but it would be his meeting with Rimuru Tempest, and his deciding to put his trust in Rimuru, as opposed to Illusia, that would save himself and the Nation of Dwargon. For if that meeting hadn't happened, Dwargon would have become nothing more than a ruin under the wrath of the Demon Lord Illusia Tempest, but that is a story left for another day.

He did. He copied all of its functions but didn't want to copy the ego since it might be more loyal to Rimuru than him and would give Rimuru future knowledge that would ruin the story.(i.e. the attack on Tempest. Rimuru NEEDS to feel responsible for it and grow up by killing humans and thus, become a Demon Lord. This is necessary for him to develop as both a person and in terms of power, however Rimuru's personality isn't strong enough for that yet.)

I myself, went with a more western-designed outfit with a long white coat with slight tufts of white fur, a grey shirt and pants along with black boots. I was a bit taller than Rimuru now, which I accomplished by making my physical body very thin and lithe, but I still looked very young.

Don't get me wrong. My MC will kill people, he just isn't the kind of scum that would give a True Death to a random innocent person for personal gain.
I couldn't just kill 500 innocent people and permanently delete their egos from existence giving them no afterlives or chance to reincarnate just so I can get a power boost. That is worse than complete scum behavior, it's straight-up cosmic evil.

Yes, Illusia is going out of his way to look similar to but not drastically different from, Rimuru
Rimuru and I were watching the whole ordeal from the sky above with bat-like wings forming out of Rimuru and bird-like wings coming out of mine. We'd gotten these through the use of our [Mimicry] Intrinsic Skill from the monsters Rimuru ate or I forced him to eat with [Predator]. He didn't know why, at the time, I was forcing him to eat a cockatrice that I'd found and killed during my roaming through the forest, but he didn't need to know that I simply wanted different wings than the ones he was used to.
