Zelda is a good choice as you could pick a game with a relatively low power ceiling like windwaker and have him grind a little by saving people with link by blessing him so he wouldn’t have to take as direct of a role and could act as more of a supporter while he builds his foundation but also write in good original storyline if you want.

I feel you should restart and take things more slowly for yours and our benefit. You shouldn’t give him a teacher any time soon because that will slow down character development so make him do solo training and grinding where he repeatedly encounters adversity and grows mentally and physically. Lower his human conscience but keep the pride he exudes as a characteristic of his race. Companions shouldn’t be introduced until you’ve cemented him and his position if at all. I personally enjoy solo Mcs much more and find them more intriguing. Good look and keep going I love this novel and its potential.
