Anyone strong enough to kill Pharek was supposed to have no reason to fear Nem's return. The culprit had killed like a powerful mage and then acted like a weakling with no plan or experience in cleaning his own mess.

Sometimes telling someone something gives them knowledge but no understanding of that something, or worse it gives them an inaccurate understanding of that something. In order to become a Guardian, I'm pretty sure Lith will want to have a FULL and ACCURATE understanding of what he's getting into. Best as I understand it, being a Guardian is MUCH more than just the power that comes with the title.
