AI translation for sure and they are accidentally copy and pasting this along with the text, probably just being lazy and not careful enough to make sure they don’t include it.

Sorry the novel is good but this stuff is just dumb, what’s he so scared of? The thing he hates seems to be being looked down on and other people being smug thinking they are above him…sooooooo revealing he’s actually the future backbone of humanities defense and potential savior seems like a pretty good face slapping to everyone whose looked down on him. I do hope this and his entire idiot personality in general are meant to be things he grows out of since he’s just a kid.

I agree except one thing, the intelligence stat doesn’t really mean the mc is smart. This mc is a teenager who has been betrayed by his family and the world, left to barely scrape by living on the streets. He’s only 15 if I’m not mistaken, so he’s a heavily traumatized, frightened child with no complete education. I think of him as a feral animal whose finally tasting some power, security and freedom so he’s a bit wreckless but also gets his hackles up too much around strangers. The military to me is the really stupid ones, their actions make no sense at all

This is a good novel so far, above average for the genre in my opinion except for one problem that I have. I think the conflict developing with the military is a bit dumb. My first issue is, why would the military behave this way? I understand the mc, in my mind he’s basically a feral animal right now, he feels cornered by the world and like he can’t trust anyone but Charlotte, it’s really good and I’m enjoying it a lot. But this military thing could have played out a lot better, firstly we already know the doctor is working with the military as an informant right? So instead of kidnapping his sister like a bunch of idiots and 100% guaranteeing an antagonistic relationship with a future power house, all they had to do was tell the doctor to tell Arthur “I’m sorry but our treatments are not working, with the current technology and medicine that we have your sisters prognosis is approximately 4 weeks. However if you are interested, I have a friend in the military and they have some advanced treatments that could give her more time or be more effective in treating her, if you want I could talk to them for you. I have to tell you though, I’m only saying this because I can see you are a beta tester, this isn’t an opportunity you can buy with money or influence, I don’t know how strong you are but the military is looking for exceptionally strong beta testers. You would have to prove to them that you are worth the effort and investment but if you are strong and show your value, I am positive that they will at the very least be able to give you’re sister more time.” Any military tactician would have approached it more like this, the doctor is already an insider, instead of doing stupid stuff this would have made Arthur hungry for their help, he would be scared and not trusting but with no other choice he would go them and to make sure he doesn’t lose out on the chance to save his sister he would show them more of his power. Now there’s lots of ways to tweak this to make them fall out later and become enemies, have misunderstandings or whatever if you still want conflict to happen. But to me this is would have been a much smarter approach from the military and makes a lot more sense. Still loving the story so far though!

Yep when the world merges the first thing I would do is destroy the entire military and that doctor. They could have come at him with a proposal, an offer, explained the better treatment options, enticed him. Instead they kidnap his sister and threaten him, dumbest possible thing to do.

Why not buy a spare antidote and didn’t he have some health potions left? Did he just forget?

Ignoring her farewell, he stepped out of the shop and headed toward the forest where he had left Borak and the unconscious girl.

Ahhh I hope not, I don’t really like gloomy edge lords

In time, though, the question would arise: would Michael maintain his sunny disposition or fully embrace the darker traits that came with his chosen path?

I want to say what I read of this novel was actually pretty good and I very much wanted to continue. However it’s just too hard to actually read, almost every chapter was just one long string with no paragraphs and since I read in dark mode the random chapters that suddenly would have much smaller and dark text was also aggravating. I only read to chapter 9 and then skipped around a few chapters, not to read, just to see if the formatting issue persisted and it appeared to be the case so I am dropping the novel ONLY because of formatting issues making it annoying to read. As far as content goes though it seemed like it would probably have been enjoyable, though I thought his first real interaction with Shay is creepy af and made the mc seem like a rapist piece of crap. That being said it’s not fair to judge based on one interaction where nothing really happened but it definitely had super creepy vibes.

Also don’t forget early on the memory thing of his ancestor where he seemed to be the enemy of everyone, I think it said something about basically every faction joining forces to kill him because he was too much of a threat, and that was only with the rank 8 eye ability and his evil spear technique, imagine how everyone will feel about Michael when he’s a divine life form with multiple rank 10 abilities.
