She wouldn't be able to until she was in front of the person and facing him/her eye to eye. She could have read it before but as you know, it can cause a memory to be triggered or manipulated which can cost her much as she can get trapped in a place she's not allowed to trespass without harming herself as well. Plus, the task is a tedious job and it is better to be ethical unless she wants to fall into the hands of danger.
'Was he actually trying to poison the horse or did the horse not trust him because of his appearance?' I thought and peered at the gaps between the stables with narrowed eyes. 'Is there something more going on than what the eye can see?'
