So, according to Asterion, Condemnation had not always been a Nightmare Creature. That fallen deity had been a fellow human once… a carrier of the Nightmare Spell no different from Nephis or Sunny, no less, albeit far more accomplished.

My opinion is that in Ariel’s game they could beat the square and continue. This time they beat them and pray they don’t have to fight their way back through or else a great citadel of humanity is at sale not just sunny. Hence why he made sure to have 5 of him this time plus all his main shadows
