"I would like to call my next witness, Jane Reinhart," Charles informed the judge.

He got to stop cutting him off
Mr. Hamilton cut in, "But the patient might be lying by acting as if he has many people in him."

"Then is it possible that though you feel that split personality disorder doesn't exist, there are some others like Mr. Ridley who believe he has met patients with the disorder? Unless you are saying he is wrong?"
Urban · ash_knight17
"No, there's no such condition as split personality disorder," Mr. Abbott stated firmly.
Urban · ash_knight17
Yup
"I've been in the field of neurology for the past thirty-two years, with a particular focus on the human mind for the last twenty," Mr. Abbott replied with authority.

😧 😦
The following week, the courtroom reconvened, with Mr. Hamilton summoning a renowned doctor, Dr. Abbott, to the stand. He appeared to be in his early sixties, exuding an air of sophistication with his distinguished coat and glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. Mr. Hamilton initiated the questioning.

Yup she right
"Of course, I'm more than willing. We'll need to leverage every resource we have to sway the jury with what we've seen and know," Jane agreed, nodding thoughtfully.

Four month wow
As the trial dragged on for four long months, the defence team found themselves sleep-deprived and weary. Even Jane, who had initially spearheaded the case, found herself sidelined by the inspector on another matter. It was a struggle to gain traction, especially when she had meticulously built the foundation of their defence.

"Mr. Leary, I've cautioned you before about overstepping your bounds. It's not your role to dictate to the jury," Judge Reynolds scolded, his tone stern. "Court is adjourned."

"Your Honour, the witness is reiterating points we're already well aware of," Mr. Hamilton interjected with an impatient sigh. "When a man dons a wig, applies makeup, and dresses in women's clothing, it's only natural for him to adopt a different persona. It's all part of the act."

"People always like to copy others, wanting to make it seem similar, and you have no proof that Mr. Crowley did it," Charles stood up from his seat. "You are leading the court, Mr. Hamilton, by wildly accusing him."
Urban · ash_knight17
"I don't think there's any proof needed here, considering the state in which the murderer has been leaving the victims," Mr. Hamilton shrugged his shoulders. "Mr. Nox, one of the residents in the building, will testify that he saw Edward talking to Mr. Crowley."
Urban · ash_knight17
"These files detail the murder of Edward Mitchel, the former resident of Mr. Crowley's current apartment. He too met a gruesome end, with his eyes and heart removed and his throat slit. Mr. Crowley murdered him to obtain the apartment!" Mr. Hamilton accused, casting a pointed gaze at Sylvester, who appeared stunned by the revelation.

The prosecutor nodded solemnly before announcing, "I must bring to your attention that the victims of these murders weren't solely women; men have also fallen victim to this depraved killer. I will present evidence of another murder." Retrieving a stack of files from his desk, Mr. Hamilton distributed them to the judge, Charles, and the jurors.

"Sustained," Judge Reynolds reprimanded, shooting a stern glance at the prosecutor. Before he could utter another word, Mr. Hamilton swiftly offered his apology.
