Grammar correction: past tense and pretense is in question this time. You reference fight here when you are intending the past which would make the word to be fought. As fight would be a pretense and fighting would be present tense.

This novel has many errors within the grammar. You are referring to things in a sense of plural extremely often. Where most things have an s at the end of the word like ‘ships’ which would mean multiple ships when practically speaking you are referencing only one individual ship.
