Y/n = Your Name, meaning that it's a symbol/signal that you use for your name of choice. *Ex. Bobby, you animal! Why'd you kill Y/n = Your name (Timmy)?! Did I explain it right?

Haha, well, I can see how some would think that. That's why it usually requires a bit of self-training on the reader's part so that they can identify - Y/n as a symbol/signal for their name of choice. or You can just imagine - Y/n = Yin. Hope that helped you or anyone that reads this. (^_^)

It's because you're supposed to insert yourself or your character of choice, albeit with the personality predetermined by me, the author. That's why - Y/n = Your name of choice, basically it's a signal/symbol. Although I can understand it being a bit difficult to do at first, I'm sure you'll get used to it, should you continue to read the story of course. ;) Hope I'm making sense.
